Question about Raptors

I notice more and more people using Raptors in conjunction with regular HDs. How does this work and what type of gains can be expected from such a setup.

Well I'm using one and its a bit faster than a regular 7200 but not by much just my opinion. The extra speed in loading games and such is nice though.
