question for dallas drivers

everytime I go through dallas, from 75 from the red river, down central expressway, down I-45 south to corsicana. I drive in the left lane, and go with the flow of the left lane traffic, usually around 80-90 (in a 60mph zone) depending on the traffic. WHY are there always people who drive right up on your bumper (and I mean within 12"), flash their lights like mad, honk their horn, etc. then pull to the next right lane (like thier going to go around) and then slow down 10mph, then 5-10 min. later, the same people (in the same car) catch up to you again, rush up on your bumper again, and do the same things all over again. If they don't feel comfortable going over 90 (30mph over the posted limit) to pass someone one lane over, why not just go with the flow of traffic?

at those speeds I usually stay at least 8-10 car lenghts behind the guy in front of me (dallas traffic has a tendancy to come to a screeching halt without warning about 6-8miles north of the I635 construction) which gives me enough time to stop safely without worrying about rear ending the car in front of me.

and yes, if you drive safely, and are obviously going faster than me(at 80-90 that isn't often), I do pull over to the right one lane to let people by, but I ain't moving for idiotic drivers, I've seen way too many massive accidents (and a few people killed) caused by that.

If someone comes up behind you, get the fsck over. Period. Doesn't matter what YOU decide is safe and what's not.

If someone comes up behind you, get the fsck over. Period. Doesn't matter what YOU decide is safe and what's not.

I'm not about to become a stain in the road., like I said if it's safe to pull over I do, and if you ever got a liscense in texas you'd know that it's actually illegal to pull over if the situation is unsafe.

edit: the fact that they pull over and slow down puzzles me to no end.
and for those that don't know central expresway is 6lanes wide on either side and is usually packed with traffic.

Since when is 75 6 lanes wide on either side? It expands slightly around the 635/75 interchange but only to merge off into your appropriate exit.

BTW - I seriously wonder what fvcktards thought up the exit ramp plans/schedules for that interchange. It's supposed to relieve congestion but it looks to me like another George Bush -> 75N fiasco. (If you know that ramp exit, you know exactly what I'm talking about)

I'm with the "move over" crowd. If you're in the left lane and not passing someone then you really shouldn't be in the left lane - especially if you've got someone behind you that obviously drives faster than you.

Also with the move over crowd..... unless you are right behind someone, waiting on them, and then get some hickboi up your rear in an F150 who can see that you are being held up, but wants to ride your bumper anyway. Then when you get past, you leave them behind until another hold up and another F150 up your butt.

I deliberately screw with those types by letting them think they can take me in the middle lane and keeping them there till they reach the next car, and then letting someone else catch me so they have to wait for them too.

I have to explain to my wife that this has no practical purpose, other than it makes me feel better and provides some entertainment.

actually you're right, I asked my wife to make sure, it's only 5 lanes wide in richardson, and is 5 lanes wide south of 635 going past downtown on central.(if you count the never ending on/off ramp lane)
