My electric bill in the summer runs almost $400/mo. About $200/mo the rest of the year. No gas, water is ~$12. But it's all VERY dependent on where you live. So asking us is pointless; ask people in the area you'll be living.
Heh - neither. We have a very old A/C unit for half the house that probably needs to be replaced. We keep the temperature at about 76 in the summer. Our cost per kw/h is ridiculously high vs. neighboring areas as well. We're cooling about 3000sf.
The last house we had was on gas heat and had a 30 ft ceiling in the living room that sucked all the heat up. We kept the temperature at 62 degrees in the winter (yes, 62!) and still paid almost $400/mo to fill the gas tank up.

No, if you have kids and central air, I can see it getting $400. Also no gas means he cooks, heats, and heats water with electric, so no gas counters the high electric.
