I wouldn't want to get involved with someone who had a couple of smaller dogs, unless they weren't the 'girly" type of dogs, like Poodles or Yorkies, etc. I had smaller dogs when I was a kid, and as soon as I could, I moved up to Lab sized, and never really went back, although I had hoped my present dogs would have turned out bigger (with mutts you never really know) than they have 60 and 67 pounds.

I had a friend who had 4 Chihuahuas and 2 Toy Manchester Terriers, all living with him and his GF in a tiny house. They drove me nuts everytime I went over there. The yapping and fighting they did with each other was amazingly intense. One of the Manchester's, Missy, hated me and would snarl at me if I just looked at her too much.

Edit in response to vi_edit's post:
I own a small dog and am not trendy. Not all small dogs are annoying big barkers, it's mainly the terrier family of breeds which gives them all a bad name.

its not maily terriers, there are a number of small breeds that are annoying as hell; terriers are just particularly bad.

i have a shetland sheepdog, my ex got it over a year ago, cant have it in her apartment so i keep it. good dog, small (a little larger than my mothers yorkshire terrier) and very quiet unless shes hungry or someone is on/near the property that she doesnt recognize.

To be blunt your theory sounds silly with no real basis, at least from my perspective and I'm around a lot of women and their dogs. I always thought dog size
was just a preference or situational. Are you a "little person" I.E. midget as this might evoke some of the comments your refering too. So do your thing and and don't worry about it Imo.

its a nice protective security thing to have a big dog if you are a woman i guess.

i prefer medium size. big dog = big turd = big smell = big bath = loads of work

If a woman has large dogs, I always think "Wow, that girl likes dogs."
I know it's pretty far-fetched, but I'm funny like that.

A friend of a friend's mastiff slipped one past the goalie while she was doing the dishes.

When I first read the subject of this post, I thought for sure this was going to be the dark alley this subject was going to go down.... :disgust:

Me <--- Male.

I never even thought of a correlation between women's insecurity and big dogs.

I love big dogs. I love petite women.

What are you doing tonight?

I think it's just one of those idiosyncracies of how men think. I can understand how petite woman + large canine gives the impression of insecurity. Guys figure most women pick dogs because they find them cute or adorable or pick them for protection. I guess guys subconsciously think that a petite woman needs more protection than a full sized woman so the big dog she's walking must be for protection. Personally, I may or may not think a woman is insecure if she's got big dogs. Depends on the woman.
My sister owns 2 Dobermans. She takes one running from time to time and when he sees oncoming people along the path, he stops and sits down until they pass. I think the dog is just self-conscious about exercising, maybe embarassed or something. Funny though.

maybe its the size of the dog relates to the insecurity of the women...a big dog makes the women feel safe while a small do is just there...

I have a friend who has several large dogs (Presa Canario) and has a very tiny girlfriend. One day while he was at work his older male dog grabbed his girlfriend on the arm and broke her arm in two places. They had the dog put down because this is obviously unacceptable in a large family dog. This would be my only concern for a small female with a large dog.

And those guys commenting on your dogs size versus your size are simply hitting on you. Pics of you and your dog are now a requirement.

But big dogs are fun.. at least that is my impression (I've never had a big dog personally).

For me they're also easier to work with.

Maybe between your good looks and your dogs the guys are just getting into a little playful?

That's how those maltese were. When they weren't picking on my girls they were fighting eachother. It was constant too.
They tried picking on my cat too, but my cat decided to whoop some arse so that didn't last very long.

The security is nice, sure. I, personally, don't think it should be the sole reason to get a big dog though.

And for the other stuff, my girls ( and cat ) are all on a special diet. So that whole big turd/big smell thing doesn't apply to them. And, to me, they're not loads of work.

i'll answer your question with a question: if a girl that has never met me but knows who I am hears through the grape vine that I need her to touch my penis and offers to touch it for free, back through the grapevine, does that mean she has an interest in me?
