Quick Far Cry question

Just got the game for my new rig. Can you tell me what patches (if any) I need for optimal graphics that didn't come w/ the game? Also, are there any issues with my video card (7800gt)? I'm trying to max out graphics - frame rates are more than adequate at very high settings but I'm getting these weird shadow effects. Big black squares on the ground and over-bright whites in sunlight.

search the forum for farcry shadow...you will see that this has been discussed in length...it is an nvidia problem.

1.33 is the latest version.

I had the same problem and once I patched up to the latest, it disappeared.

So lets say you have ver 1.0 then you should install ver "....", ver "...",......... then ver "1.33" ( which is the latest patch.)

Is this the right thing to do.

Also could someone fill in the blanks for all the patches required to get the game patched from ver "1.0" to ver "1.33", i'm sure everyone will really be greatfull for this.

Yes, you have to install each patch in order. Install them in order from here:

Thanks for the help guys. The patches fixed my issues. I started from 1.3, then did 1.31, then went right to 1.33 (skipped 1.32) since the changelog said it included 1.32.

btw, in my numerous searches I kept reading about HDR support - do I want it, does my card support it, and how can I enable it?

Yes your card supports HDR and you can enable it by the console using "\r_hdrrendering "x" where "x" is a number from 1 to 11. Or you could do it in the system.cfg file in the main directory and look for that same command and set it there (its defaulted to "0"). Its a great effect if a bit strong in indoor segments using high values.. Play around with the value to find the best settings for you. You can't use AA with HDR though but who cares..the lighting effects are worth it.
