Quick question about video drivers!

i know this really should be in the software forums, well i think it should be there anyway, but i'm stuck in a bit of a jam and need a quick fix.

heres the deal. i installed the new detonator drivers on my system so that i could play bf1942 and have it run normal. once those are installed, rivatuner stops working, without that, i get roughly 60 fps in counter strike. i roll back the drivers to a later version and rivatuner works, making cs run just perfect, but bf1942 crashes out of the game before it even gets to a load screen. is there some other 3d tweak that would work with the newest version of the detonator drivers?

Uninstall the existing detonators before installing the new drivers. Also, try uninstalling Rivatuner before installing the new detonators and then reinstall it. I may be talking out my a$$, but sometimes you have to start from scratch.

I second the start from scratch. When I update my Nvidia drivers the Winfast overclocking utility no longer works properly so I uninstal it first and then re-instal after upgrading the drivers.

What's your refresh rate? Is it doing the 60hz thing? I don't know what I did but my games run at the max refresh for the my monitor. OGL and DX games
With the older versions detonators I went in the registry and changed the nv modes delta settings but this version the registry settings aren't the same. All I did was enable the d3d refresh rate override.
I also got rivatuner working with the 41.09. You don't have an older version of rivatuner?

no no, not 60hz, 60 fps... my refresh on the monitor is 85hz.

as for getting rivatuner to work, what version do you have, i think mine is 2.0, if my memory serves me, that is the newest version out. i've tried everything that i can think of and can not get rivatuner to work with the 41.09 or even 41.04 det. drivers.

Using rivatuner 2.0 release candidate 12. After I installed the new detonators I reinstalled rivatuner. Extracted the zip file to the same place I had it. Went into the folder double clicked the rivatuner with the two gears icon. Then it did the building the registry thing. It worked fine afterwards.
