Racing Games on PC...

i have gtr2, gtr evo, race 07 and they are plenty stale. i had high hopes for f1 2010, but at launch it was a joke, and i haven't been back. i use a cordless rumblepad, but if i were to choose a wheel i'd probably get a fanatec. it seems there are slim pickings in the wheel market, maybe joysticks too.

True, we do need some more racing sims.

Rfactor 2 and GTR3 are coming next year and Shift 2 is looking interesting.

Hah I hear ya. I don't even have a 360, but that's probably the only game I would play on it if I had it, I had fun times with a Xbox and original Forza that I had for a little while a few years back.

Not that I agree with them, but they have rules here and believe me when I tell you they are enforced.

TDU 2 is coming out in Jan, but a lot of Beta testers say it stinks.

Gimme a break. This is not the hot deals forum. Anandtech forums were founded on the idea of open discussion. On any given day there are a 100 posts in hardware and tech for example asking the same question but from different people and usually slightly different circumstances. Yes there may be some general redundancy but questions will cease to exist if they are policed in the manner you suggest, which thankfully they are not.

speaking of, talk about a game that is HARD as hell to play with an xbox controller. i can usually do ok most of the race, but you have to be so precise its not even fun.

If you guys want some real fun racing check out www.virtualrc.com . You can join a club online and race against other drivers. They also have monthly races where you time-trial and submit your race times online.

I race 1/8th scale nitro RC and the tracks are real... Cincinatti, Ft. Myer's and Kissimmee are the best out there. A lot of European tracks available as well, but I've never been there. I usually practice on whatever track I'm racing next to get a feel for the track without having to be there

<------ Look at my name, also rfactor and Iracing. Those are serious sims if you want something that is serious. Grid, Need for Speed and the others are great games if you are into arcade games. These games are fun from the first time you install them. They do not require hours and hours of practice on just one track with one mod. Personally I only like the more serious sim such as Grand Prix Legends, Iracing and rFactor.
