Radeon 7500 or 8500

Prices are falling what I need to know how much of a difference is between the 7500 64 ddr and the 8500 64 ddr is the 8500 worth an extra 60 or so?

I think that is worth the extra dough, performance gap is pretty big in most games, but it really depends on what you plan on doing with it.

Running older games at lower res, then you probably will not notice anything, running newer games at high res then you probably notice a huge difference.
But both are good cards, the 8500 just is better, how much better depends on what you are going to use it for.

The 8500 is faster, and does have DX 8.1 support as opposed to the DX 8.0 for the 7500. How much faster depends on the rest of your system specs. I keep looking around for the Gigabyte boards to show-up but I have'nt seen them. I think I'd wait a bit if you can because they might offer a bit more features than the Ati's, especially if they show up with ram sinks and overclocking built into the drivers.

its easily worth it. The 7500 isn't even based on the same core. Definitely go with the 8500.
