Radeon 8500 Dual Display

I can get it to work using my Planar PV174 as primary monitor and Viewsonic PF790 as extended. I also set up schemes to switch between either. However, am I only limited to the LCD's refresh rate even on the CRT? Seems I can only get a 60hz display on the CRT, which blows. I thought a dual head video card would be able to send different refresh rates to the 2 ports if needed. Otherwise, pairing a CRT and an LCD seems useless to me. Anybody know how this can be done?

set the crt as the primary by pressing the button that looks like a single circle and then set the lcd to the 2 circle for secondary and then enter your setup for your crt set the default on it to whatever your max res is and then set your refresh to what you like then click apply then go to the monitor tab and choose your res and click apply if that dont work look it up on ati

When I did it, with my LCD as primary and CRT as secondary, I unchecked "display modes this monitor cannot do" or whatever in the Monitor tab of the advanced menu. Chose 85 for my CRT, then clicked okay. Now when I go back, the MONITOR tab says it's running at 60, but the Displays tab says it's running at 85 and the LCD is still at 60. Works for me.

If I could do that, I would. When I go to the monitors tab, 60hz is the only option available. Unchecking the 'hide modes this monitor cannot display' gives me two 40hz interlaced options. There's never options for higher refresh rates. I've even tried updating the monitor driver to the CRT display but nothing doing, only get 60hz for an option.
