RAM compartment in Acer 4220? Anyone?

Just trying to add another stick of ram to this Acer 4220 laptop as a gift for my mother for xmas.

I can't believe I can't get the damn back cover off to add the ram. I can see the ram icon and the stick it came with sitting in its slot, I have loosened all apparent screws and pried part of the cover up (there is a slot on one end, clearly intended to allow the user to get into the cover this way), but the lid only comes up a small way and feels securely fastened somehow still. I have tried loosening pretty much all the screws I can find on this thing with now luck.

I have done some looking and found out about Acer putting a 2nd ram slot under the keyboard in some older laptops. But this one doesn't look like it has the 2 "pry-points" at the upper left and right corners of the keyboard like I have read about (theoretically under the esc and del keys..) this is also a newer model, so I think I just have to get the back cover off to add the ram, but I cannot seem to locate where this thing is still attached.

Anyone know how to access this compartment?

I just decided to try good 'ol brute force after posting and, lo and behold, scary as it was because the thin plastic of the back cover felt like it was breaking, I did force the cover off.

This is apparently the way it is done, as there are tabs all around the edge of the cover and you have to free one section first and then work your way around prying the rest of the edge up inb a linear fashion..

So there itis, couldn't believe a simple laptop ram upgrade was going to make a monkey of me (although lesser tasks have done so in the past..)
