RAM compatibility help

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone can let me know if the ram I'm looking to buy is going to be compatible with the rest of my rig. I'm looking to Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR3 SDRAM from Newegg. [Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233386 ] The spec I'm concerned about is this one:

"16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 for AMD, Intel Dual processors and 2nd Generation Intel Core Processor platforms"

However, I have an Ivy Bridge i7 processor. Now, the memory may have been made before Ivy Bridge existed. Will it still work, or should I look for something that specifically says it works with Ivy Bridge?

For reference, it's being put into a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 TH motherboard.

Yes, the memory is compatible and it should work with out any issues. Good luck with the upgrade. No, it should work though Ivy Bridge is not mentioned, in the Memory Qualified vendors list (QVL) there are similar corsair modules with same latency speed and they are confirmed by Gigabyte that it work.

P.S BIOS upgrade will come in handy before installing the new memory.
