I have an old MSI H61M-E23 motherboard. i bought RAM, it didn't work a few times and then yes, for a few months.
I touched the RAM accidentally, took it in and out, used the old modules-nothing. it felt the RAM only once and then didn't work again.
Are these signs that the motherboard dies?
What can i do, if at all, to save it?
Thanks

It is an older motherboard, if the board does not post with either kit, it is probably dead. You could try clearing the CMOS, and seeing then if you can get it to post. What CPU and RAM are you using?

Easiest way to do so is to power off computer completely and remove the CMOS battery, then put it back in, and power back on. This should reset all BIOS settings.

If you are unfamiliar with this, I would recommend you watch some videos on it, specifically regarding your board, or take it to a computer shop where they can troubleshoot for you.

It succedeed! partially... i cleaned the CMOS battery, which gave 3V, after years of work... but now only two of the HD are recognised, i have 3
The computer works and loads Win, but it takes much time till the MSI logo appears, as if it searches something
I made a manual switch to the 3d, unrecognized HD, only 2 lines supply voltage directly to it whilst the other 2, out of the 4 wires power supply, pass through the, maybe faulted, switch.
But that's the case when the switch is closed and it worked so years (i made it as a safty procedure, i only activate the 3d HD when i want to make a backup), and the computer didn't take so long to boot
Again it doesn't work, black screen while the HD led lights. it said it has to install updates but it's unusual
Before that i checked the BIOS and it recognizes the 2 RAM banks, 8GB, so something else is wrong
