Ram Speed in bios?

Hello all,

I am using a a7n8x deluxe mb (flashed to bios 1007 as my new cpu is a 3000+) and two sticks of kingston pc3200/400mhz ram. At post...dual channel is recognized, but the speed is 133. Bios is set to "auto" if I change it to "by spped", it sets to 200mhz. Not sure what to do here, suggestions appreciated.

P.S. I will be running an AMD 3000+ Barton @333mhz, but it was aparently defective so am now using my old 2200+ @ 266mhz till I get the replacement. Does that impact the speed of my ram (the "mhz" of a given cpu)?

Change the auto to 1:1 or 100%. I am not sure which setting is right for your mobo. That will set RAM speed equal to the FSB.

Set everything to user define. Then set it yourself. And like lordtyranus2 said, run the cpu and memory in sync.
