Rams speeds and overclocking?

Ok, I just recently got some brand new RAM! I think its pretty good stuff, heres the newegg link for ya, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-439&depa=0 and I'm wondering about the specs of it. First of all, what does DDR400 mean?? Is that how many MHZ its running at stock or do you have too set it yourself?? The same with PC3200, I'm not entirely sure what it means or what it does. But ultimately I would like to know how to make my RAM perform its best on my PC. Just incase this matters, here are my system specs. Thanks for any help!

DDR 400 means that your memory is running at 400mhzx2 since its DDR (double data rrate)

Generally most boards will read the SPD (serial presence detect) chip on the stick and from that get the speed the memory should be running at, however, cheap ram or crappy boards will sometimes make you manually set it. To make your ram go faster try tweaking the settings such as the CAS, RAS etc

Oops, forgot to look at the link, you got PC2700 which is DDR 333 which is going to be a bottleneck for your 800mhz bus system

Minor correction

DDR400 actually runs at 200MHz transferring data on both rising and falling edges of the clock cycle.

In theory gives the same data throughput as SDRAM running at 400MHz.
