Yes, there are coed dorms, we just don't live in one.
Besides, we both got singles, and our RA's don't care if we sleep together in one room or anything. We just can't take showers together.

Coed dorms are different from coed rooms. At my school we have coed dorms, and even coed suites, but the catch is that the two people assigned to live in a room have to be of the same sex. The workaround for that is to get a single and have your girlfriend stay there (or vice versa if the girlfriend is the one with the single)
