Im just now getting around to getting these problems fixed. They have been happening for a while, but I figure I should really start getting them in check.
Problem #1: (seemingly)Random restarts
Every so often, I will be loading up a game or doing something taxing, or just be away from it (it doing nothing) and come back to find it has restarted. Why it is doing this, I know not. I have an idea it might be my power supply. I am running a 450W Xclio that I have been running for about a year, and I think I may have to much hardware connected to it. My hardware consists of:
X2 3800+
x1800xt
ATI HDTV Wonder TV Tuner
Creative Audigy 2 ZS platinum sound card
PCI wireless card
2x250gb HDD
1x80gb HDD
1x500gb HDD
I am using about every connection I have in there. Other than that I have no other ideas of why this could be happening. Am I using to much power? Or does the problem sound like something else?
Problem #2: NTLDR missing
This I have some idea about. Every time I start up my computer without the windows installation disk in the drive, it comes up with the message "NTLDR is missing. Press CTRL + ALT + Delete to restart".
I went to Microsoft's site and looked up the problem. It said to contact a customer service representative to get this missing file. But when I emailed one of them he referred me to Microsoft support, which costs money. I looked online for the file, and I found the file, but it seems I have since lost it, and I cant find the site again.
Either way, if I did have the file, I dont have any idea of how to create a boot disk or whatever to replace the file.
Any ideas?
Thanks to all that help.
