Razer Megalodon fakes/replicas?

So, I found a guy who sells Razer gaming equipment for half the actual price on a Bosnian site similar to Craigslist. I found Razer Megalodons for about 70 USD and I want to get them. I asked him if they were legit and, if they were, how could he sell them for such a low price. He said that they were real and that he gets them from a sponsor. The price of the Razer stuff is REALLY low! He's selling a Deathadder for 40 USD! :O
So, can anyone tell me how to check if these are legit WITHOUT opening the box? I know I can use one of the numbers to register on Razer's site to see if they are legit, but I don't think that he'd give me a refund...
Should I take the chance and buy them?

I'm guessing you're posting from Bosnia. If so, go visit the guy, and see if they're real. We're an American site with a large international following, but I doubt whether most of our members could give you a better answer than the old warning that, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Please don't bother posting the name of the site or a link to it because I'd just have to consider it as spam.

On a sidenote, everyone who has Razer stuff in Bosnia got it either from the US, or Austria. No third alternative. So, can anyone please tell me if there's a way to tell they are fakes from the box?

Three possiblities:

1. They could be real and not defective or stolen.

2. Someone in the manufacturing/supply chain is stealing parts or completely assembled products and selling them on the black market. They'll be as good as you can expect from the original product, but you may have problems if need assistance under your warranty.

3. Someone in Asia is making counterfeit copies. They'll be as good as whoever did it happened to make them, and your warranty is as good as you can trust the guy who sold them to you... which just happens to be the same guy who was willing to rip off the original manufacturer's designs, trdemarks and other intellectual property.

Of those, I think the first is the least likely... but I guess it's possible.

So, can anyone please tell me if there's a way to tell they are fakes from the box?

If you are in Bosnia, and you have the opportunity to see the actual product in person, you could take a known real origianl package and product with you and compare them.

If you want/need the real thing then getting it from trusted sources is how I would go. If it's use isn't anything of priority then it shouldn't matter if the quality isn't as good as it should be. Like if you are casual gamer or some situation where it's not a big deal...if it is, you may want to get a higher end set of HP's which could be had for not much more money if that.

Well, actually, I do need a good set of gaming headphones because I'm a DotA 2 player and I have a couple of tournaments coming up...
Harvey, thank you for your suggestions, and I would take a box to compare them if there were actual Razer retailers in Bosnia... I'm going to ask him to bring the headphones near my house so I can check authenticity on my phone on my own WiFi network. He's probably gonna come by today... I'll make a post to let you guys know what happened.
