Abyssus($30)

I'm thinking about Abyssus, but i want opinions about these mouses and if any of you tried the mouses. I have the money, i just want to choose wisely. I was gonna get Naga, since all the functions, but the keypad at the side is just ugh. The imperator looks nice, but if the abyssus is good. I'm get that instead. Help me decide.

I've owned the Deathadder and currently own the Naga.

The Deathadder is simply awesome. When it died I went with the Naga cause I use a lot of hot keys/macros for work stuff and the buttons are just great for that, but I don't like the mouse. The Naga is small and is a bit odd shaped with the right side and the position of the forward/back buttons take a lot of getting use too. I don't recommend it.

The Deathadder was one of my fav mouses and I probably will be getting another if I can not find something else I like when the Naga dies (my mice regardless of brand last about 1 year before they start up with all kinds of problems due to extreme amounts of use)

I got a DeathAdder 3500 as a birthday present last year, mainly because you can get a left-handed version of it. It's been that good that it has finally broken me out of the habit (going all the way back to the late '80s) of using a right-handed mouse left-handed.

Sadly that one died a few weeks ago, but Razer is RMAing for me, so I'll have a spare, since I already got a replacement. Can't complain.

The Deathadder has been the best mouse I've ever owned. It's shaped just perfectly and isn't over-extravagant with extra buttons, just two well placed thumb buttons.

Be sure to hang on to your receipt. Razer's warranty is two years, and they will honor it if you have any trouble.

The DeathAdder is a superb mouse, but make sure you get the right surface for it. The original 5L was pretty much perfect for me (with the blue/black graphic) but they seem to have dropped in quality with the black revision as it just became so rough to mouse on. In fact, it's becoming harder to buy these now so I guess they discontinued them.

I also used a 9HD for a bit, but I don't feel I have enough control using that as the surface is really slick. In my experimenting I also picked up a Puretrak Talent but the liftoff distance is terrible with it, so I'm currently using an Intellimouse 3.0 which is a great match.

Another thing - be careful if you're going to update the firmware on a DA, as it can cause them to brick - even if you follow everything properly and have no power outages. I had to send one back to Amazon as a result of this.

I really like my logitech G9 I know it's not listed but take a look at it. Amazon tends to have decent prices on them.

I've got the Mamba which is the first non-Logitech mouse I've ever owned and it's superb. It feels great in my hand and is very responsive. Zero driver issues as well.

Looking into a new mouse myself...i was seriously considering the Naga with the 12 button keypad.

I play MMOs quite a bit and seem to need 20-25 buttons to do that. The 12 button keypad on the Naga would allow me to eliminate some of the slower to use keys like G, Ctrl1, Ctrl2, Ctrl3, Shift1, Shift2, Shift3 etc. Must be quicker using the keypad than using those keys?

I'd like to keep 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Q, E, F, ShiftQ, ShiftE, ShiftF. Plus 14 on the mouse is 25, should do the trick! But I don't need it breaking on me for $75. Ever.

Death Adder is probably the best gaming mouse I've ever owned in terms of comfort and use. I should have gotten another one but I like to change things up and see what else is out there so now I'm on the MS Sidewinder, and I'm definitely thinking of going back to the Adder.

My Death Adder completed died after a couple years. The razer before that, I forget the name, still works but the mouse wheel broke. Mamba got returned a week after owning that overpriced pos.

No more Razer for me. You sould at least consider Logitech.

Just because Razer brands themself as gaming doesn't mean they are the best choice for gamers.

I've got the Naga. I picked it up for the extra buttons for WoW, and I love it. I haven't played shooters with it yet, but it's movement and feel are very good, and I expect when I do break out a shooter again I'll like it there too.

The one complaint I have is the extra buttons require a little too much pressure. I keep my mouse sensitivity fairly high, and the extra movement that sometimes results from tracking your thumb to the side to operate a button can throw the position of your pointer (or character) off a little. This gets better the more you use it, but I still have trouble with some of the buttons feeling natural. I think if I force myself to use all of them I'd get better, but as it stands now I think I use about half of the ones on the side regularly simply because it's awkward to reach all of them.

For MMOs I have a hard time believing there's something better.

I have an ancient G5 and a Razer Lachesis. I use the G5 almost exclusively because it fits my hand better. Make sure that whatever you get you get your hands on it before you buy to make sure its comfortable for gaming sessions.

I have owned Viper, Diamondback, Copperhead and Death Adder.

On your list I guess I'd recommend Adder.

Did they ever make a cobra? Or are they saving that name for something special?

OOOOHHH!!
I didnt know they had a black death adder!

I recommend that if you dont like glowing lights. The sensor is infrared, so this sucker is awesome for night gaming or surfing.

I had the Deathadder 3.5G, and it was awesome, but it always felt like it would miss mouse clicks. Like 1 in 4 clicks wouldn't register. I've moved on to the G9x and now RAT7, and there was definitely something up with the Deathadder.

EDIT: Also, the sides of the Deathadder were very slick. I put some sport grip tape on the sides. I guess in retrospect it wasnt that good overall.

Razer makes good products from what I've owned myself. I currently have the Naga and I love it. I got it when it first came out (and cost more >_>). I have zero problems.

I have one of the 'old' (first gen? I don't know exactly) death adders and I've been really happy with it. I really like the material for comfort and prolonged usage, and it's just a little on the big side for me which I think feels good.

I've owned several Razer mice from the reboot on the Boomslang, Diamondback, Copperhead, and Lachesis.

Now I'm using a Mionix Naos 3200. It will take some time to see if this mouse lasts, but it is leaps and bounds more accurate than any of the above mice. I had high hopes for the Lachesis, but after trying for a year to get it to track properly, I gave up.

If you're deadset on Razer, go with the Deathadder.

Why Razer?

I've been using a Logitech MX518 for YEARS. I wont use anything other than this for gaming, until something far superior comes along. I've enjoyed it enough, that I have 2 for my computers.
I tried the G500, briefly, but had to go back to MX518. I still use G500 for my main-general use computer though.

MX518 price is well within the range you have to work with. http://amzn.to/ktBM28
