With the GFX940 patches in full swing since first week of March, it is looking like MI300 is not far in the distant future!
Usually AMD takes around 3Qs to get the support in LLVM and amdgpu. Lately, since RDNA2 the window they push to add support for new devices is much reduced to prevent leaks.
But looking at the flurry of code in LLVM, it is a lot of commits. Maybe because US Govt is starting to prepare the SW environment for El Capitan (Maybe to avoid slow bring up situation like Frontier for example)

See here for the GFX940 specific commits
Or Phoronix

There is a lot more if you know whom to follow in LLVM review chains (before getting merged to github), but I am not going to link AMD employees.

I am starting to think MI300 will launch around the same time like Hopper probably only a couple of months later!
Although I believe Hopper had problems not having a host CPU capable of doing PCIe 5 in the very near future therefore it might have gotten pushed back a bit until SPR and Genoa arrives later in 2022.
If PVC slips again I believe MI300 could launch before it

This is nuts, MI100/200/300 cadence is impressive.

I know this is the wrong place to ask but I will ask anyway as I know a few people here may help =)
Does anyone know any of the mods or someone on B3D that can help me recover my account?
Since they switches to login needed to read, I am currently SOL.
PM me if you can help or put me in touch with someone who can!
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Unfortunately, I presume it is a fake MSRP. At least for some time.
Yeah fair point, the actual prices may be a lot higher depending on availability of supply. But if the prices are still close to that, it sounds like a pretty good deal.

-Another massacred graph but performance looks like it's there. Basically puts the card right in 4070/6800xt territory which ain't shabby.

I figure 16gb will float up to a $400 price on account of the memory, but 8gb will likely hold the line at $300.

Even more interesting if we have a non-xt variant come in at $250 or less down the line. Could literally be a full chip 8gb card that is just clock/power limited to perform around 5060 levels.

Also, how do I get a job in AMD's marketing department... Looks like I could sleep all day and still get a bonus.

It isn't a complaint but it seems like an unnecessary feature in a $300 graphics card in 2025.

It's a bit of free performance for those with PCIe 4 and a decent boost for PCIe 3 which I'm sure plenty of people still have. Especially with the 8GB model. It might be a bit overkill but not everyone is buying all new at the same time I'm sure plenty of these will end up in older systems.

12GB would be better than PCIe x16 ;-) But anyways, 349$ for the 16GB model is quite OK.

RX9060:
12GB and PCIe x8 for the RX9060 then? With a 96bit memory bus, 28CU, -10% GPU frequency and 120W that would be an decent card for let's say 269$ MSRP.

Wanted a 9070xt, but have problems justifying/budgeting the Price. Will still be a decent upgrade for my 5700xt.

Yes it will. And think about it this way, you will stay in a similar (slightly less) TDP range rather than increasing it. Less heat .

Not gonna happen. They would've had to make a new die to do that. The 9060 and 9060 XT is a cut down 9070 die, they essentially halved it.

9600xt 16gb seems to be the perfect replacement for my dying 5700xt. As i'm on an intel 10700 with only pcie 3.0, the 16x lanes are an icing on the cake.

Of course this can go out the window depending on availability and price on my region.
