I formatted and tried reinstalling XP Pro last night, and it went to hell...
There's two copies of XP on my comp now and no matter how many times I delete them they are still there...
The HD is formatted, I just can't log onto windows... First it game me virtual memory errors, and now its giving me Checksum errors... The two checksums I got were like SHWARLI.dll (not 100% on that name) and WININET.dll...
Microsoft Tech Support was worthless, they couldn't help at all... When I copied the setup files there were a few corrupted files, but I went on anyways... The files were (off the top of my head) wingdings.tff (shouldn't matter?), winhelp.exe, and another one... It used to say that wininet.dll couldn't be found on the disc but it found it, and now thats the checksum file...
Is there anyway I can get my computer to forget all detials of the install and just go for a clean install again? I've formatted before but have had no problems of this magnitude...
Thanks for help in advance, I might just be screwed here...
