Realtek ALC850 driver on the A8NE

received some second hand warnings about poor mp3 audio/gaming audio performance with the ALC850 driver and software. been told that i should prolly roll back to an AC'97 driver if i decide to acquire this mobo. curious if there are specific known audio performance issues with this driver or if anyone encountered similar problems. thanks for you replies.

Just use the newwest drivers and you should be ok. Realtek makes probable the worse AC97 codec but for basic stuff you are ok. If you want better at a cheap price get a chaintech VIA Envy sound card for $25 at newegg.com

Use the NVIDIA audio drivers, the Realtek ones really are that bad.

the nvidia mixer uses the realtek drivers under the covers..

I had issues with that chip with the drivers that came with my CD, with to Mobo web site and downloaded the latest drivers and all good now!

I doubt it, because the Nvidia driver supports ASIO.
