You're not being very specific as to what you want benchmarked as it never came with demo for benchmarking.
Also, the game is vastly cpu bound for all stock maps and most user made maps on any recent hardware.

300 FPS? My old X850 GTO^2 ran that game at max setting (4x AA, 8x AF) on 1680x1050 and it averaged 35-40 fps in Office. It relatively old engine.

my 1800+ Socket A with 9800pro256 runs office at 15-70fps at 1920x1080 (usually 35fps). It starts to suck if there are smoke grenades, or 8 people crowded with me in paperroom with paras ablazing.

agree with the others. thrre is no reason to bench this. If you have anything decent you can play at 8xAA 16AF and the highiest res available to your monitor...

Yeah sure... there's no better 3D shooter anyway wherever you look that will be as close in terms of gameplay and popularity, unless you like shoot stupid monsters in UT 2004 and other child crap games, CS:S is real deal, maybe SOF3 will be better when its out.

What i talking not empty map looking at wall i mean hardest conditions possible ~20+ players on all setings on map except AA and AF and 1024 or 1280 with HDR off.

I want to see how your PC will handle that, you know you can record demo of any map yourself, and what i want to know what hardware do i need to have MINIMUM of 60 FPS all the time in any map anywhere what video card capable of doing this and i can tell you there are parts of game that extreme laggy.

Yeah btw i am not speaking of SLI or quad cpu hardware, i mean pc with 1 CPU and 1 GPU.

I can state that running a dual core opt 170 with 2GB-DDR400 I get between 25 and 40 FPS on de-dust on average. With smoke and other effects it drops to 10fps or so.

800x600 res all settings on low.

Radeon 9250 GPU.

Minimum of 60 fps at 1280? Uh, pretty much anything in the latest 2 generations. With an x850xl and 2600+ mobile barton at 1650x1080 I'm getting around 35-60fps average with everything maxed out..

And monsters are sweet, Metroid Prime is great and all you fight are monsters >_>

I regularly play in 20-person servers. I run the game on a P4 2.6Ghz w/ 1.5GB of RAM and a 7600GS. I play at 1024 with 4xAA and 16xAF. I never drop below 40FPS. The game just doesn't take a whole lot to run by today's standards.

At that resolution with no HDR, any midrange video card from the last couple of years will be more than enough. You'll be almost entirely cpu limited especially as the player count ramps up.

On a 3.4ghz dual core/x1900xt I lose 5fps going from 1280x1024 to 1920x1200 with everything maxed using a demo I recorded off a 30 player server in a fire fight on office.

There are a couple of user made maps that can bring quite a few systems to their knees. De_wanda for example, is a good map to test how well you THOUGHT you system could handle CS:S

My Athlon64 X2 4600 with a X1600 Pro ran at around 60-70fps *usually*... although on some maps it really lagged down...

Just hoping a combination of 2900XT and 4400 will run it smoother...

SOF3's already out, and it's a piece of crap. Don't know what you were expecting from a game made by Activision Value...

QFT!

I regret that I purchased it the day it came out. So pissed on how crappy it was. I just am praying that they release like a 2GB patch to fix all the stuff the removed from the game that was what made th sof series sof, I wouldn't even call this sof3.

Also, I got a 7900GT that is able to play CS:S @ 1680X1050 with 4xAA and 16xAF and maxed out settings at about 60FPS(such a useful number for vysnc).

Does not look all that bad to me, though maybe bit more on console side

Since you guy's saying latest video cards rape CS:S, how much new mid range card is faster than old times Radeon 9800 XT? its like +30% or +80% faster?

Yeah I thought the screenshots looked wonderful too and was eager to get it, however I read a review of SOF3 that had some great shots in it too..but said "Don't let the screenshots fool you...it is crap"..

No advanced video or server options, no leaning, no chat, no console, no way to ban people, no advanced name making, the weapons are nice but they aren't exactly equal (like you can have an rpg7 and mm1 in the same weapons selection), limited maps, no anti-cheat software, no infiltration gametype, and a handful of other stuff.

The only thing the game has going for it is Gore and Graphics.

It should really only matter if CS:S would run on a new computer whether or not it's smooth. Who cares if it's 300 FPS as opposed to 150 FPS, it's still smooth.

Frag away...those kinds of benchmarks are just that: benchmarks, only meaningful for comparison of new hardware, not whether or not you're going to enjoy the game any less if you had hardware that ran the game at 150 FPS. CS:S is old enough to come to a point that new hardware throughly chews it up (mainstream cards and above).
