I am looking for a new Wired router, as well as a DSL modem. If there is a good combination router/modem, I'd love to know, though I suspect I might be better off with two separate pieces of hardware.
I'm currently using my PC as a router, as my old combination unit broke. I want to replace it, but only with something good. Even before it broke, it was never very capable. It couldn't handle many connections, and would need to be reset every so often. I'm looking for a nice capable router.
I've heard a lot of recommendations for the Buffalo wireless routers, but I really don't want to go wireless. I would love to stay wired.
Also, are there any places online that sell straight-up DSL modems? (PPPoE) I've heard the combination units, much like the one I already had, are mostly crap. I'd rather get a standalone modem and a standalone router, if that's better.
