its allright imo.

I always disliked the ideas of GC's though. What if the people don't like that certain place? Why not buy a GC to a fav. restaurant of theirs?

Red Lobster is overpriced with mediocre food. I tried it once and was very disappointed.

Of course that was in Yuma, Arizona, so who knows what they were using for seafood.

I was just going to ask about seafood in Arizona. I stay away from the fish department at the local supermarket. Nasty looking fish.

I have only been ther a handfull of times but I liked the food a lot. A huge plate of popcorn shrimp is my favorite with that really good cheese bread or whatever it is.

Gosh dang you guys, now I'm hungary. Going to raid the fridge now

red lobster is my favorite restaurant. i know it sounds kooky but i'm all about big portions, cheap prices, and a nice family atmosphere....i've been to some nice restaurants when i lived in nyc - nobu, le cirque...but in the end, nothing beats the suburban red lobster

:Q:Q Red Lobster over Nobu???

<-- Has now heard everything.

there's just something about the shrimp feast + biscuits + salad that has me hooked!

A bunch of food critics aren't we? I think people make too big a deal about subtle nuances of food. Food = good. That's all you need to know.

I've never been to Red Lobster, (would rather have sushi ) but friends tell me its not that good at all..
The closest location for me is one near Woodfield Mall in IL

Thanx for the information .

i say spend it towards the olive garden, which is right across the street I think. Great food there.

of course, being a vegetarian, I might be a bit biased...

Eh, they're good for a once a year visit *maybe*. Here, a place like that is pointless. There are so many better local fish restaurants all along the Jersey Shore. You might be better off with Outback, their food is pretty decent. Kind of hard to screw up a steak...

Hard to screw up steak? You must not be a big red meat fan, because it is EXTREMELY easy to screw up a steak.

Not unless you're really picky or they put some kinda weird spices all over it. Unfortunately, there are more Italian restaurants here than anything so steak houses are hard to come by.

And to the one whose criticizing the Jersey shore, do you even know what you're talking about? There are loads of fish places that have excellent food. A lot of them are South of Atlantic City but there are a good amount in Central/South Jersey...

Red Lobster = mediocre seafood for a reasonable price (at least in Chicagoland). Their stuff is frozen (not fresh). I got my one and only case of serious food poisoning from a Red Lobster in Wisconsin.

Great Excellent <insert your own superlative here> seafood (for a higher price) = Bob Chinn's Crabhouse. Bob flies his seafood in fresh every day. If your relatives are close to Wheeling or downtown Chicago, consider giving them a GC from Chinn's instead. The website needs updating, but a new Chinn's opened up on Clark and Wacker in Chicago.

Of course, you could buy GCs from Hooter's in Woodfield.

Red Lobster sux, partially microwaved frozen shrinkwrapped food. If you're going to eat 'good food' why not get really good food, not mediocre wanna-be seafood. Growing up near the Gulf of Mexico has made me spoiled with regard to seafood I suppose.

Why is seafood so damn expensive? I love to eat it, but I hate spending an arm and a leg for it. I ate once at The Paddle Wheel in Vegas...all you can eat King Crab legs and a bucket of beer for $5! Heaven!
