does it use that VAC anti-cheat software that CS and DoD use? i hope so because i can't stand people cheating.
No, you were paying attention. It's made for realism, there's no bullet counter because in real life you wouldn't know. There is a clip count though that tells you how many clips of ammo for your gun you have. They do tell you approximate numbers though (by the weight of the clip - heavy is more than half full, light is less than half, very light means the clip is nearly empty), and health wise there is a little avatar AFAIK. But since there are no hit points per-se, it wouldn't be useful to have "100" on the HUD to tell you your life.Originally posted by: pontifex
i don't recall seeing an indicator for life or ammo. i saw a remaining clips indicator but no indicator on hows many bullets i actually had. do i need to make changes to the HUD or something to see that? maybe i just wasn't paying attention too much?
Err, play non tank maps then. There are 3 different types of map, those with only tanks (which you seem to have played, hence the only tank class being available), tanks and infantry, where there would be other classes such as rifleman, and infantry only maps, where there are no tanks, and hence no tank classes.there's a limit to how many players can play each class so if you don't get in 1st you're stuck with the sh!tty class, which seems to be tank driver (only weapon is a pistol). sure, there's a tank that you can hop into, maybe (if its spawned and no one else takes it 1st).
Err, were WW2 tanks easy to use? Or were they clumsy and difficult. I can see that being limited to arrow keys would be annoying, but it's supposed to be a kind of sim, and I would assume in WW2 tanks were not all that great, and in fact may have been clumsy and difficult.turret movement is done by arrow keys only - no mouse movement. extremely clumsy and difficult.
This is a point of contention, some people demanded it, others said it would be too anal (in the mod). It got in, and all it requires is a double click when you fire, and it only affects rifle users. It adds to the realism (this is supposed to be a sim after all, not arcade). It also means you don't have to spend time waiting to rechamber a round when you might rather be running the hell away to get in cover.every little action require some key press. hell, you shoot your rifle and you have to left click again to chamber another bullet. jesus christ lets talk about anal.
Again, duh, it's supposed to be a sim. You also can't run while reloading, which means if you empty your clip and it started to reload, you would be screwed, as you couldn't escape and you'd die. Again, it's supposed to be a sim.no autoreloading of empty clips. reloading takes forever. the person who said this was a wwII fps sim was pretty much right.
Extremely slow, or not arcade-like fast? Again, realism. This is a soldier with heavy kit, you can't spend all your time running like an athlete in reali life, so you can't in the game. Sorry it's not an arcade FPS like you are used to.movement is extremely slow.
That's inexperience, and also soldiers wear uniforms, sometimes these uniforms are slightly useful to camoflague the wearer, sometimes.good luck seeing your enemies. maps are dark and everyone is the same color as the background. view distance is very short, even with all settings at max.
Can't really disagree too much, since the engine is getting a bit old now. But then I don't mind graphics not being the best ever, because gameplay is more important to me than graphics.graphics are pretty bad in general.
Probably related to the above, you are not used to the game yet, and again it's not arcade enough for you, you'd obviously rather play sometime really easy with hit points, cone fire, crosshairs etc.iron sights blend into the target so you can't get a good shot.
Any justification? Does it throw it back because the game is not like every other FPS out there? Are you saying we need another CoD or MoH or DoD? Because if you are then you should stop playing games. It's people like you, who can't stand innovation, which hurt the rest of us.this game throws the FPS genre back a few years...
Personal preference, that's fine.as much as i'm starting to get tired of cod2, its a much better game. hopefully Oblivion won't suck like Morrowind and I'll have something else to play instead of CoD2.
