Carlos took some steps like calling the zoning commision when his neighbor put up unsafe, unsightly projects, called the cops when it got noisy, etc,. etc. but beyond that, how much do you think his website stopped property values from going down?

Idiots like this NEED to be exposed for what they are. Carlos' website documents the propblems caused my his neighbor. If nothing else, this is good ammo to use when all the residents sue him for dragging down their property values.

And nothing Calos has done is illegal. Nor do I see it as racist in any way. The neighbor is an idiot. If it's racist to call a minority an idiot when he does idiotic things, well...

I said those things based on what Carlos said was happening over at Phong's house. A fistfight broke out at one of his infamous late-night parties. Starts with loud music, then parties, then later and later parties, then fistfights...do you see a pattern developing? I sure as heck do! :Q

I never said that his website would keep property values from going down. I said that he doesn't want his property values to go down (who does?) and that his website is his way of displaying his displeasure with the current situation.

Personally, If I lived next to this yahoo, I wouldn't have been as kind as Carlos. I would've been on his case from the get-go and been wriing letter to the city council or other proper authority.

It's called defamtion and it''s illegal. According to the supreme court Carlos has the right to "make parodies of any public fiqure or corporation and portray them in any light so long as it is in obvious satire and does not cause direct harm"

I have a nearly identical situation with a neighbor....a few highlights. She decided to get a dog, which constantly got loose because her "fence" consisted of bits and pieces of other fences and chicken wire staked into the ground....charming. After retrieving the dog for the 50th time I suggested she might want to put up a real fence. She has a brother in law who works for a landscaping firm, so he (I guess) ripped off a bunch of 6 ft high contractor's fencing and put that up all around her yard...also charming and scenic. Now that the dog is effectively confined, it spends its time barking and trying to scale the fence into our yard (this bit of the fencing is ours and is the normal 4-foot stuff. Her brother in law also seems to think that her backyard is a great place to store all the scrap lumber and other sh*t he swipes from construction sites. This stuff has been sitting there for over a year...except for the old wood fencing that he recycled into a pseudo-privacy fence between part of our houses. He just nailed together the old fencing "as is" and never bothered to paint it or anything...really looks spiffy. She ocasionally has a random family of four (different families each time BTW) living in her basement as well....utterly illegal in our residential zoning. The latest is one of the landscaping trucks parked between our houses....this would be the huge-ass panel truck variety that is almost as tall as the house. The guys in the truck (who are still in the house three days later) dropped off even more scrap lumber which is supposedly going to be a shed. I gotta get a dig cam so you guys can experience the joy along with me.

I guess I need to stress the points of my argument: I think the WEBSITE is unncessary. Carlos already has his pictures, the testimony of his wife and a police officer, dates, times, etc. as ammo for a lawsuit. Why would he need to air his dirty laundry on a website accessible to everyone, including those that don't need or even want to know about "Phong Lee?"

You're making assumptions as to the race of my neighbor you know nothing about, and I seriouly doubt any of this would "ruin" anyone. Put yourself in my place, I have put an amazing amount of time, money and effort into my property and I watch as hers gets more and more dilapidated and piled up with garbage by the week. I have asked (nicely...I don't need a fight with someone I see every day) if she could maybe tidy up the stuff a bit on several occasions. This will generally result in her picking up a few pieces of lumber and stacking them somewhere else in the yard....nothing else. I have now been in touch with the notoriously inefficient Dekalb Code Enforcement so I'm following the next proper recourse. Sometime stuff is just so g*ddamn annoying, you have to laugh at it.<shrug>

I highly doubt this guy started out with the intent of giving his neighbor a hard time or wanting to humilate him. I'd say that website was born of intense frustration at a situation that's not been resolved by any other other means. A website is certainly better than going out and getting an AK 47 and going postal,which would probably be very tempting if we were living next door to the "scorched earth" look yard and the weekday 2am karoke parties.


I personally thought the site was funnier than hell, if I was the guy who put it up I'd at least get a small bit of satisfaction that my 5 yrs of pain and suffering living next door to this idiot had at least provided others with a few laughs.
