What I don't get is why those people don't fight for their homes instead of running? I understand a few people would chose to flee, but the masses of people just leaving to burden others I don't understand. Imagine how the US would have turned out if all the colonists just decided to flee from the British instead and tried to become refugees somewhere? Instead people rather flee and hope someone else does the fighting for them in this day and age. Mainly the US. If the refugees only consisted of children and a few care givers that is one thing I can understand a wholeheartedly agree with, but the flood of refugees is everyone from the area. Which only gives more power and control to the people they are fleeing from. Which makes it harder for anyone to fight for them or accept them.

They also, as stated, all want to flee to countries that will give them steaks instead of hamburgers as another pointed out. Yah many are forced into squalid conditions, but as least their cowardly asses are alive. I may have plenty of sympathy for individual refugees, but as a whole I don't. Yes, if my family and home was being threatened I would die protecting them. I would make sure my wife and kids got to safety, but I'd do my best to stop whatever was threatening them in the first place. I wouldn't want to die myself, but if that was the price to pay for their continued safety I'd gladly pay it.

You know that Canada, literally, was largely founded by British loyalists fleeing America during the Revolution, right?

Make that colonial refugees fleeing a civil war.

US revisionism is often simplified of those 13 colonies in rebellion. No, only portion of the population pitting families against familes.

US mythology is that of standing up for oneself to get ahead. Neglecting the other half of the equation, often letting them suffer due to mis-alligned allegiances or perceived inferiority.

That's what I don't understand. The American Revolution was started by a handful of wealthy men who hated British taxes. We owe America to the 1%. And yet today we villify them for doing largely the same thing.

Yay. Another Canadian getting all passive aggressive butt-hurt because the USA didn't jump right into WW1 and WW2 when Britain and Canada wanted us to.

Yeah, we let you suffer because in WW1 we were still sore about Britain and Canada siding with the pro-slavery Confederacy during our civil war. And in WW2 we were sore because after WW1 you idiots didn't listen to President Wilson and negotiate a fair peace with Germany. And then you hypocrites declared war on Germany for attacking Poland but couldn't find the balls to declare war on the USSR which invaded Poland at the same time Germany did.

Now we're in the present day and your government defaults your defense to us while ingrates such as yourself lecture us about how much better you are not because you're a Canadian, oh no, but because you're NOT an American. Your national motto shouldn't be A Mari Usque Ad Mare it should be, "Canada: We're not Americans! Oh, and sorry!"

The UK declared war on Germany because of a binding treaty.

Also, Canada can easily defend themselves from any threat. Who has the capability to defeat Canada in Canada? (apart from the US of course)

Here's the "refugees" protesting that they can't do welfare shopping and go to Germany:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=11&v=7L3eSbpETf8

in addition to throwing that stuff on the tracks, they also held up a placard with written "no food, no water, germany".
And guess what the sheltered radical chic journalists that work for Al Jazeera understood? That they don't have enough food and water, whern they are in fact saying that they just want to go to Germany and don't care about supplies.

there are 2 solutions to this and neither are pretty

1) the world lets a lot of people die. IE millions of them - people are going places where there isn't room for them and they aren't wanted,

2) the world gets off its ass and fixes the source of the issue - this requires a full scale total war effort by a large number of countries to effectively cut out the cancer - this will never happen

so what are we left with - millions of people in a place they aren't wanted that cant support them where they refuse to assimilate - which in time will just make everyplace a shithole

Anyone who has seen the picture of the little boy that washed up on the beach in Turkey and is not moved to tears has no heart. It really brings the human calamity that is taking place into focus. These people deserve whatever help we are able to give them.

Maybe Obozo should have not pulled troops from Iraq so ISIS can fill the vacuum. The "red line?" That was crossed over a year ago and look what this far-left asshole of a President is doing. Playing golf, renaming a mountain and going on a TV show. I bet he takes his selfie stick.

Bottom line, this country is what makes the world go round. And this President lacks balls on the global stage and things are going to hell in a hand basket right quick. 2016 couldn't come quick enough and God willing the sheep don't vote with their head up their ass this time around. Just look at this Iran BS? OMFG!

You can thank Bush Sr for this mess. He started it. And Bush Jr. Blame him too.

not the americas since you can't ride a dinghy across the ocean.

the US has a population of 320 million into which to dissolve and assimilate foreigners.
And yet it takes 70k a year, worldwide.

In total the US have 1215 natives per refugee, similar to Bulgaria (which is an emigration country and nobody wants to go there).

The world average is 699.

Canada has 203, Germany 144 and Sweden 107.

So the US definitely can do more.

You'd also not spend too much money given that you have low welfare.

You can take them from Turkey where they have 44 natives per refugee.

Complements of retarded US drug policy.
well it's not like you can legalize domestic cocaine production.

Fixed that for you.
