Region Free dvd players

are all the new dvd players that come out now region free?? how can you tell if a dvd player is able to play region free dvd's??

most of the chinatown stores got region free players but they are chinese branded

Try to look for an american one... I believe philips had a Divx DVD regionfree player

yes I have one its the Phillips DVP642...it plays everything

You can basically hack any player to be region free. Simple process too.

You assume all dvd players are region coded unless it specifically saids it's region free. I'm not sure if the DVP642 is even region free. I know I had to hack mine.

are there any other factors in determining whether a dvd works on your dvd player other than region code and the format the dvd is in?
