here's a better idea... take them on a field trip to a poor american neighborhood (in america??? can't be!) where the kids don't properly celebrate christmas because they're parents have enough trouble feeding and clothing them much less buying video game guitars and punching other shoppers for the last tickle me elmo then maybe they'll learn something.

so basically a day off from school, kids just go home?

lol, right - because singing carols and making snowflake cutouts is the same as learning about religion. This is such a ridiculous thread, filled with ridiculous posts.

I've never been forced to 'stay' or 'leave' during holiday celebrations, and I really don't care. Sometimes I just puttered around the hallway with the other heebs. Sometimes I stayed in the class and ate Christmas cookies.

The OP hasn't really defined the point of this thread - it's just a rant.
