They refused to replace my mice - just because they didn't make them. What bastards!

Take it easy. This is good information. I, among others, have a bad MS mouse which can not be exchanged or returned because it was used more than a year. If I didn't read this thread, I would either continue to sufffer, or have to buy a new one.

If anyone would abuse the knidness of this service, it's the person, not this information itself. For that sake, I would thank Wino to post this and share the info with us.

repost. again.

one of these days microsoft will stop their replacement offer because of abuse like this. use it if you need to, not because you want to.

Thank you for being the abiter of good and bad. I was going to try and get hundreds of mice replaced by microsoft, but your post made me only want to submit the 5 broken ones I actually have. Oh, wait, I was going to do that anyway. Well then, thanks for automatically assuming that all we want to do is rip microsoft off, instead of even considering that we might just want to use this offer as they obviously want us to.

I am pretty sure it is the original version. how do I tell?

Are you actually naive enough to think that for every 1 person that actually has a bad mouse (which yes I know there are legitimately) that 5 others aren't going to get a free mouse outta the deal? I'm by no means for MS but the last thread with hundreds of posts and probably a thousand or more claims and this one which just screams for abuse just kinda makes me cringe even though it is MS.

How is FAXING something a case of MAIL fraud??? At any rate, I'm not conding the submission of false claims; however, I don't condone nonsense scares either.

Note: I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV.
Actually faxing a false claim is wire fraud, not mail fraud.

Wino, thank you very much. My mouse's Intellieye has been cutting out intermittently for weeks. I didn't know what mouse to get as I have not found a single one that is as comfortable to use as the Intellimouse 2. Hopefully they still have some of these left.

I did thisback in june with my intelli, my mouse arrow would skip sometimes, well alot... but any ways they didn't even ask for a scan of the bottem, just asked for the x05 number on the bottem. anyways they sent me 2 new mice and they were both the wrong ones !!! they sent me 2 optical wheel mice instead of an intelli. So I had to call and tell them they said no prob and sent me the correct intelli mouse. Bascially got 3 brand new optical mice for free lol.

Does anybody else think the 20 digit Product ID has anything to do with their tracking capabilities?

Does everybody have the same number? I'm not to sure, but I really don't think so.

Thanks Wino, for the post. I've had an Intellimouse Explorer sitting in the closet for about six months, just hooked it up the other day, and it wigged out and stopped working.

P.S. Lalaland, get a life.

I really hope microsoft has a database so all your dirtballs who "don't wanna waste .10 on a copy" or just want a copy sent to them, get caught and just feel dumb. Microsoft is actually doing a good job and probably has the best support from all the stuff i have bought for my computer, i feel like i made a good investment and wish that people wouldn't screw up a good thing for others.

I have an old Intellimouse w/ Intellieye 1.0 that is sort of losing its sight. I don't think it's quite bad enough to justify wasting resources by sending this one to the landfill and making a new one. However, is there any chance they'll send me a 3.0 as a replacement? If so, I think I can justify it

my buddy had one of the intellimouse explorers 1.0's that had a bad cable and they did infact replace it with the new explorer 3.0, good luck.

Well I called the number and the lady told me they won't replace my mouse because it is a discontinued item. Now I have to find a new mouse, and I have been looking for one for a while. None appeal to me.

My mouse came with my Dell, but it constantly double-clicks when I only single click.

Has anyone had any luck getting an OEM model replaced? And would you be able to ask them to send you a black one?

Prolly been mentioned before (I'm too lazy to scan the whole thread) but they'll even replace ancient mice. I got an old ball-mouse replaced with an Explorer 3.0.

So, my intellimouse optical acts wierd some times. It'll be sitting there, not being touched, and the pointer is moving on it's own. Not accross the screen or anything, but just in place as if the "eye" were loose or something.

Is this normal? Is there a prob with it? Or is it just possessed and will it come alive and kill me if I look in the mirror and say "mousy man" 5 times?
