Pence came out of the shadow of being a Trump VP smelling a bit rosy. He's put something of a shine on that since. Vance has a chance to do similarly. Thus, we should always expect and demand people follow the rules, and publicly shun and denounce those that would disregard those rules. No, it's not going to stop them. But we should still do it anyway. Be the person in society that you want others to also be.While I agree with your sentiments/intentions, I think it's safe to say that those times are now safely behind us (maybe/hopefully temporarily).
