You mean had she not won a strong majority in the Democratic primaries.
Then I guess a majority of Democrats have poor judgement. The red states she carried in the primaries were absolutely pivotal to her general electoral strategy

Unlike Republicans, who showed superior judgment in voting for Trump.

You don't seem to be much of a Truth-seeker, or your conviction is beyond reality and reason.

I have to conclude that if you don't see him for the disgusting person he is, then you too are disgusting.

And an America with fewer disgusting people would be a better America.

Anyway, what bothers me more about Pelosi is her age and prospects of health. If she's up to it, then that's great.

It's amazing to watch many lefties fail to grasp obvious reality. They cling to the pathetic notion that illary's defeat was all because of the evil right wing smear machine and other evil factors. It's laughable. Obviously that same smear machine was not able to do anything to hamper obummer, he easily won two elections, had record turnout and votes (hey, so much for that evil racist white country bs) and would have easily trounced Trump had he been able to run again.

The reason Trump, the most disliked candidate in the history of elections with major baggage who continued to shoot himself in the foot at each turn was able to defeat illary is because she's a horrible candidate, a chronic liar and a horrible person.

Pelosi is the face of failure and failed politics. Having her continue to be leader of the dems in the house is a gift to the R's.

I actually think I agree with you on a basic argument.

To be honest, while I lived through the daily news in the Post during the '90s, I was already looking at media as both sounding board, distorter and a funhouse mirror of a window for the public with little time on their hands to dig deeper. The media isn't the demon here so much.

Instead, Clinton had been in the public eye for a very long time, and the GOP wanted to stifle any effort she took to strike out on her own like the modern woman she thinks she is.

So it is purely Machiavellian that I had misgivings from the start.

On the other hand, she's risen from "National Enquirer" scandal-status to Mother Theresa in my eyes, just for attempting to do good and making mistakes.

And that brings me to Pelosi. If there were mistakes, and the same people learn from them, that's as least as good as replacement with an unknown -- or worse -- a Disgusting Creature.

It's more important discover the causes of mistakes and fix them than to purge people who were instrumental to their making. This is contrary to our politics, which keeps selling the idea that someone is god-like enough to rule the nation based on stupid rules-of-thumb.

They are all flesh and blood -- "men such as yourselves" to quote Steinbeck in his screenplay.

I've never claimed superior judgement from the GOP, something they've been sorely lacking since W.

The Democrats found the recipe for defeating the GOP in Obama. Back on topic, Clinton and Pelosi represent the past of the party establishment.

I guess the establishment wanted one more brush with failure and disappointment.

They didn't. That's why your premise is stupid.
The only stupid premise is that the Democrats managed to advance the only candidate capable of losing to Trump.

Warren and Sanders are demonstrating exceptional leadership. They get it.

How do you know that Clinton was the only candidate capable of losing to Trump?

You don't, which means you're asserting speculation as fact, tearing down the Democrats. That's why you're here, isn't it?

I'd couched it in these terms. I keep harping on this subject of modern media, target audiences, and mass-psychology. Recognizing one's participation in a mass-psychology is as much an antidote for it as believing the myths on which it is predicated makes it possible for psy-war and propaganda to work.

So the other day, remembering a book published in the '60s by a psychologist studying the effects of the JFK murder on small children, it occurred to me that there is actually an overlap there.

Old or young, sometimes pain is a natural factor in learning. Thus, burning the hand on the hot stove. Learning requires repetition.

The Right took up the banner of a problem with the Iraq War, while spewing nonsense that Obama founded ISIS, that the troop withdrawal arising from Bush's status-of-forces agreement was Obama's fault. They never wanted to admit that their election of Bush was a mistake. And they elected him twice.

There's another explanation about repetitive choices -- doing the same thing over and over again. I needn't repeat it. If they want to live in denial about that, too, nothing can be said or done.

People like John Kerry, Al Gore, HIllary Clinton, they suffer all from the same thing. They are career public servants and that somehow translates to a bad thing. I'd rather have someone like that in office than a complete wild card like Trump.

Net worth:

John Kerry - $200M
Al Gore - $200M
Hillary + Bill Clinton - $110M
Nancy Pelosi - $200M

Public servants, huh? That would explain all those multi-millionaire firefighters, teachers, and social workers...

Would be nice if politicians went into office because they want to help the people, not to become rich. Maybe the pay should be cut severely so we find more people like that.

They're not getting rich from the salary paid by their offices. They're getting rich from speaking circuits, books, etc.

Paying elected leaders like shit is a good way to invite corruption.

That's really dishonest, particularly considering that many politicians come from wealthy families.

It's also dishonest in the context of DJT, a man whose wealth has been acquired thru astoundingly sleazy methods.

That's true, that's why President-elect Trump promised to start deporting the disgusting illegal alien persons the hell out of this country. I think it will be a very good first step.

I was quoting Bonzai Duck, ask him who constitute disgusting people, he wants to get rid of disgusting people. Why the hell do you think illegal aliens are all brown? They come in all races and colors. Kind of racist of you to think there's only one type.

Democrats don't hate rich people. Warren Buffet is fucking loaded and he supports progressive issues. Why do you hate rich people?

Pelosi's husband is an investment banker. I couldn't find anything but right wing sites to corroborate the 200 million number but they are rich. Investment bankers get rich buddy. Gore sold 46 million dollars in Apple stock options and made 100 million from selling CurrentTV that he helped found. He also made 10 million for selling another company he co-founded. FUCK AL GORE FOR BEING A SUCCESSFUL INVESTOR AND CAPITALIST. John Kerry is married to Theresa Heinz. She is worth 200 million. Yeah that Heinz. As in fucking Heinz ketchup. She is the loaded one in that relationship.

Anyway your list is stupid.

is it the right-wing douchebags that hate the wealthy now, meanwhile loving Donald Trump? The irony is rich.

Fucking Trumpists.

You can't get rich like that, in public office, unless you are a crook.
If you're married to a rich wall streeter, I guess that's a bit different.

They didn't get rich in public office you idiot! The post right before yours explains how or why they are wealthy. Take off your damn blinders!
