Resellerratings gives them 4/7 based on 140 responses (quite a few). Not a good score. Most of the complaints are due to their handling of returns. Someone posted a horror story that said there were 16 complaints to the BBB on this company. I almost bought a mobo from these guys but decided against based on this info. Caveat emptor.

I have bought stuff from them, and haven't had a single problem with product. It is true with OEM stuff, they just put it in plastic bags and stuff it into a box with some foam. So far whatever i've bought from them, has worked well.

Ouch, look at the shipping... 11.85 for UPS Ground and 17.10 for 2 Day FedEx. (at least for me)

It is $387 at NewEgg with $6.95 FedEx Saver shipping. Everything I have ordered from them using FedEx Saver has gotten here in two days... even a case that was shipped from CA and had to go to Atlanta.

NewEgg's reseller rating is 6.5 .... much better.

I would spend the few extra bucks for NewEgg.... they also have the OEM for 355.

I have used both venders for many computer parts. Both are speedy but NewEgg has cheaper shipping. NewEgg has alot of great prices. Parts from both haver never failed. Just my 2 cents.

I've ordered from Googlegear in the past. I've had no problems. Their shipping is a little higher.. but sometimes they have some decent deals. I'll let you guys know how my OEM 2.0A Northwood arrives!

I've probably dumped about 10K into Googlegear in the past couple years.
They always have awesome retail chip prices
As a matter of fact, just picked up 5 PIII 512 tualatins in the past month which was over a K, never once had a problem

Paranoia will destroy ya...Keep in mind with these ratings sites is that many of the ratings come only from people with a gripe...people that need to bitch. Ask the person that just left a negative rating how many times they go just to leave a positive one - a pat on the back instead of "what have you done for me lately". It's unfortunate in our society that the squeaky wheel gets the oil and good deeds go unnoticed.

If one vote matters in this world of listening only to the peole that gripe, googlegear has done very well for me over the 25 or so transactions I've completed with them. Speedy, reasonable shipping, fast shipping and the price I was after at the time I wanted to buy...

Not b/c they received the DOA but b/c of the way they were treated when trying to return it. Read the comments at resellerratings.

Sure, you must take what's posted at these ratings sites "w/ a grain of salt". But w/ 140 respondents and such a low score (4/7) those thinking about ordering from them should take it into consideration. I'm sure most will have fine experiences like you did, but for those who get DOA's it might get ugly.

Also, if all the posts to resellerratings were from people w/ a gripe or feel the need to bitch how do you explain amazon's rating of 6/7 based on 142 respondents. Shouldn't their rating be much lower since they do more volume (assuming the 2 companies treat their customers equivalently) therefor creating many more "people w/ a need to bitch" just itching to post nasty things to resellerratings?

Could the title for this thread be anymore unclear? How about "P4 2Ghz 2.0a $375 @googlegear warm"?

I think 4/7 at ResellerRatings.com isn't all that bad. I try to avoid anything under 3 but then again these days I don't even shop at many new stores because Newegg.com, Bunta.com, Mwave.com, etc. have everything I need.

edit: oh yeah, I brought a couple Celeron 566's from GoogleGear.com a while back. No complaints but no experience with their return department. Fact is if you shop with a real credit card (not debit card) you can also contact your credit card company to resolve the problem if the retailer isn't working with you. Obviously that sucks but...
