How did Frank die?

I've heard two possible solutions for this one. There might be more, so take some guesses. If you already know it or find it via Google, don't answer yet and let people guess.

The joke I thought included the window is open as a red herring to water and *glass* on the floor.

I thought the wording was a little different from the original riddle. That's about the only way to anti-Google it -- change words, names, etc., but keep the same meaning.

more riddles! this makes me want to go out and buy a cheap riddle book.
I don't care if you steal the riddles from somewhere on the net, I won't google them.

There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body, or moving in any way (other than the eyes). Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?

Heh, on that persons head.

No fair, you can't go forwards and then backwards that just complicated the thing so much.

Might have been. I've seen many variations on this one, including the mention of glass on the floor. I've also seen it with open door, no window or closed window, and glass, which implies an "inside job", such as the family cat.

When I realized you could go backwards (no in* words exist) I gave up. too many options.

Another beginning to one:

Although I am dead, I cover the living,
Many survive through the warmth I am giving,

Fur coat?

Yep. Too easy, it's tough to make them hard enough to think about but easy enough to be solvable.

I thought sunlight for this one. It's sort of dead, well it never was living eh n/m hehe

OK, last one from me for the day, my head is starting to hurt:

Some use me for warmth, others to maim,
Yet others use me to spread their fame,

(more to come)

Yes, something like that or morning, noon and night. I know it involved references to times of the day.

How is a mouth used for warmth?

My guess is: a flame?

Mouth is used for warmth when kissing, or blowing on your hands when they are cold

Tales/Stories?
I thought of tales (tall), but how are they used for warmth?
