Sorry, didn't know we shouldn't give the answer if we knew it.
No clue on this one -- maybe ask the honest one, "Would you follow me down path X?" If they say "No", then take the other path.
That won't work, just read the part about not knowing who is honest...

You don't know which one is honest and which one lies.
Go ahead and answer it if you know it. I just didn't want this to become a race to see who could post the answer the fastest w/o having to solve it. You guys need to be held in suspense and/or stumped once in a while.

Oldie but goodie:
Say you're walking down a path in the woods. You come to a fork in the road. One path is a long and dangerous dead end that will surely lead to your demise. The other is a simple, well-traveled path that leads back into town. Two people are standing there. they both know which path leads to town and which path leads to certain death. One of them always lies, and one of them is always honest. They are both aware of the other one's tendency to tell the truth or tell lies. You have no idea which one does what. What is the ONE question you can ask ONE of the persons so that you know which path to take?
Please don't google or answer if you heard it. There's no reward in cheating. The reward is in FIGURING IT OUT!

ask either one which path thier friend would say is safe. Then take the oposite.
if you ask the liar he will tell you the honest person would say take path A which leads to death becuase he will lie and say oposite of what the honest person would say.
if you ask the truth teller what the honest person would say, he will tell you to take path A which is dangerous and oposite what the truth teller would say to you.

I can't figure it out. It feels like there is not enough information. I mean an assasin could have came in and hit them both with baseball bats right?

There may not be enough info, but this is the way the riddle was told to me.
The answer:
The cabin was the cabin of a plane. The plane crashed and the people died due to head wounds caused by the crash.
The key is to think of another type of cabin besides a log cabin, the obvious choice.
So, do you think there's enough info? If not, what should be added without giving it away?
You got it, dnetmhz!
