28 days sounds right.

You didn't specify that the second bucket has any water in it, so I'd say that one.Originally posted by: Spooner
If I were to drop a bowling ball in a
bucket of water which is 45 degrees F, and dropped
another ball of the same weight, mass, and size in a
bucket at 30 degrees F, both of them at the same time,
which ball would hit the bottom of the bucket first?

If the second one doesn't have water in it, or ice in this case since it's at or below 32 degrees F, it's the second one.
What's with all the ice riddles?

He asked which would hit the bottom first. Since the second bucket is frozen, it wouldn't hit the bottom.

Ah, true, but he didn't say if there was anything (water) in the second one. The bucket (or surrounding temperature) was 30 degrees F.
No, Goth said it.... I never said anything about there being water in the second bucket. The bucket itself was 30 degreesOriginally posted by: BornStar18
I suppose that's true. I guess we're supposed to just assume.Originally posted by: Goth

is "set you free" a euphemism for the death penalty?Originally posted by: Spooner
i'm out for the night, boys, but I'll leave you with one more.
Two men were being tried for murder. The jury found one man guilty
and the other innocent. The judge turned to the guilty man
and said, "Even though your guilt has been established, the law
compels me to set you free." How could such a bizarre judgement occur?

A horse is tied to a 15 ft. rope and there is a bail of hay 25 ft. away from him. Yet the horse is able to eat from the bail of hay. How is this possible ?
The rope is tied off between the horse and the hay.
That's not the answer I was given, but that is what I first thought also and it works
This would be impossible because the rope would be too short
Back to the 3rd grade for joo!
Just catching up from yesterday.
He's not saying its tied to the hay, its tied to a point 15' from the horse in the direction of the hay.Originally posted by: RobDowneyJr

If you cant understand what i meant, im saying that the rope cannot be tied to a bail of hay that is 25 ft away from him if the rope is only 15 ft long. Reread my post and you should understand, kid.

X = tie off point for horse. Although it's only assumed that the rope tied to the horse is tied to something else.

I still fail to see how this is so hard to understand.. thanks for the diagram!
