Right Click >> View Source not working

IE simply ignores my request. I've done my google research and suggestions are to flush cache, but it no workie.

WinXP with IE6. Anybody have a fix?

clearing the cache worked when that happened to me.

You can search the registry for the DWORD 'noviewsource.' If it exists, set it to 0.

Thanks for the MS Knowledgebase links... I've seen them and they're not very helpful.

I'm still hacking at it... tried reinstalling IE6, didn't work. Bah.

No such "noviewsource" in the registry either. Cleared cache/cookies, restarted, etc. Still searching for the magic bullet.

Did you check to make sure that Notepad is selected as the HTML editor, or has something perhaps changed?

The HTML editor is for the "Edit" option. View Source should default to notepad unless you change it in registry... which I didn't do.

Same thing, no work. Here are the steps that have failed thus far:

1. Delete cache, both through the IE options, and manually as well, followed by restart
2. Delete cookies, both methods, followed by restart
3. Search registry for noviewsource, nothing found
4. Yes, notepad is operational and in the original place

Basically it was working, and then stopped and has not worked since.

I got desperate (I have been with women, but now with the computer) and did an XP restore from two days ago. That fixed the problem.
