So you research every article you read? I don't believe you.
So if RIM says something, it must be true? Do you have any proof that they are not lying? Have you given them a polygraph test?
If RIMM is lieng, we might as well treat life as though we are all in The Matrix, overly concerned about who killed JFK and think that aliens run the world. Listen, all RIMM did was clarify rumors that are out in the public.
RIMM didn't deny anything if you actually read the statment. They clarified what is being said because people like you are to lazy to research matters and think tha BlackBerry enterprise communications are comprimised. What RIMM said is that they are providing information to India. They didn't deny that. They also said that this does not extend to secure BlackBerry enterprise communications. That means that "encrypted BlackBerry enterprise communications" are not being provided to India. Funny how extracting hte facts from a statement can lead to clarity.
But your statment that "The only reason left for anyone to get a Blackberry was security, and now that's gone" is 100% inaccurate since RIMM stated clearly that people that actually use their busienss systems are as secure as ever so the "only reason left" is an inaccurate statement.
As for researching what articles say? When it comes to RIMM, yes. The thing is it is only about once every 2 weeks where an article says soemthing new. It's usually reiterated garbage that are half truths or lies. Yes, lies. For example, any article that says RIMM is "bleeding cash" or "loosing money" is lieing. "Firing 5000 as last ditch effort" is another. Not a single article bothers to mention things like lean manufacturing which RIMM stated months ago as being the reason for layoffs that are coming (and now here). Don't read that much do you. Silly "facts" that "journalists" ignore.
As for research. I started off with the notion that RIMM is dead. Various events led me to their financial statements. Looking at those, I realized two things, "Wow this looks cheap" and "what are these articles talking about?" So, I read, read and read some more. The more I read the more I realized that "facts" don't align with "journalists".
As an aside, I write articles. I understand why journalists do what they do. When you get paid $25 to write an article, you can't spend a week on it. Even two hours is alot of time. Luckily, I write articles as a side job and in order to provide clarity on my own thoughts. The fact that I get paid anything is icing on the cake.
