Harmonix has responded to the setlist leak with a very funny video. I love HMX, most companies would just pretend it never happened. In fact, this video has revealed two more great songs!

Doobie Brothers - China Grove
J. Geils Band - Centerfold

Woohoo!!! I'm incredibly happy about Centerfold. RockBandAide now has what should be the full, correct setlist based on all the info we have now.

I listened to a lot of those songs on the set list, and it's actually a lot better than I first thought... there were just a lot of songs out there that I didn't know by title.

I'm fairly happy with it. By the way, the OP has been updated with YouTube links for every single song in the setlist, plus a link to a full YouTube playlist that contains all the songs.

Do you think "Pro Mode" will have a very big impact on sales? Are people that interested in it?.

For me, that is the reason I will buy the game. I actually got kind of burned out on the GH/RB games after buying every one of them from GH1 through GH 5, RB1, RB2, etc. I really wouldn't have even looked at RB3 until I found out about pro mode. I'm currently working on playing a real guitar and I found this very intriguing.

However, I'm curious how many people out there really will care about it? It is going to be a mode that will take a pretty serious time commitment to master and I suspect that most people will look at it and be like WTF and go back to just playing it in normal mode. Further, I haven't seen a whole lot of talk on the various forums.. people are mostly just talking about the set list and all the same discussions we've seen about every previous version of GH/RB... and pro mode seems to be only mentioned in passing.

Are there many guitar players out there who will buy this game for pro mode, or people interested enough in learning to play the guitar to buy this game for pro mode?

What do you all think?

I don't know what percentage of the general population will use it (it might be low), but I'm absolutely interested in pro mode. Ever since Guitar Hero 2, I've been saying, "If this could actually teach me a real instrument, it would be pure genius." Well, now Rock Band 3 delivers.

I'm also very interested in pro keys and (to a lesser extent) pro drums. I think the addition of the cymbals will make the drums more fun, even though I'm not that great of a drummer now. I've always wanted to learn keyboard, so pro keys may finally inspire me to get a real keyboard and Synthesia.

Pro mode sounds great to me in theory, although my inability to master anything above Challenging playing on merely Hard will probably make me rethink that once I start playing for reals.

This is actually the reaction I expect a lot of people to have once the game actually comes out... I think people will think it's going to be awesome but will be unwilling to actually put in the time to learn to play the songs in this mode and once they have played a couple of weeks to a month to put down the pro instrument and go back to "video game mode". I'm hoping there will be a lot of perfectly good controllers on the used market once the game has been out a few weeks....

I think you highly under-estimate the drive for people to get "the best score". I think since this is a "game" based situation that people will be much more apt to put some work into it since it makes it fun, even when you fail.

There's also those of us that really play. I've been playing for 23 years. I actually think pro mode will be easier since it will actually make sense.

In general I agree with you though.

I've been "playing around" with guitar for many years... off and on.. but only in the last year and a half or so I've been trying more seriously to learn how to play.. taking lessons, practicing a lot, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing if pro-mode helps me progress... or not. I think the UI for reading the notes may be pretty awkward, but maybe not so bad once I get used to it. It will be odd to be back to "easy" and/or "medium" in rock band

anyone seen if Wii will support importing RB2 DLC?

Good news for Wii owners coming out of PAX, Harmonix is now saying that a RB2 export will be supported on all 3 consoles. However, there is no word yet whether some songs will be held back from exporting due to licensing issues.

In other good news for the Wii, RBN songs are starting to get ported over to the Wii like they are now for PS3.

I wonder what RB3 DLC pricing will be like, I could easily see them charging $2.49 - $2.99 per song instead of the current $1.99 (for PS3)

So the controller is just a Squire Strat with a MIDI audio-to-MIDI device on it...classic.

I would rather use the guitar to do other wild shit, like play a synth and a guitar at the same time.

Why can't we preorder the Squier guitar anywhere yet? Kinda getting close isn't it?

Seems like there's more than that. Everything I've read mention sensors in the neck which knows where your fingers are.

I'm not sure where you're getting this from... they've said that the squire will have a Midi out on it , but also that it will have electronics in the neck to determine where your fingers are pressing. I don't believe that the game will actually use the midi-out at all, but the midi out would be really cool for people who are into midi sequencing and would like to use a guitar rather than a keyboard.

It would be sweet if you COULD use the midi-out to play the game... I already have an electronic guitar that is just like the pro controller and has a midi out, but of course it isn't going to work with the game since there is no way to plug it into the Xbox.

I am definitely pretty stoked about the guitar. I kind of wish there was a more "basic" version. All the features of this game (especially pro mode), but gameplay similar to GH2 or GH3. I'm a guitarist myself and so thats all I really care about I don't need the drums or anything else.
