Holy crap, that's a lot of money for a drum kit. Hopefully they are worth the coin.
my drum kit for RB was $1200. it was worth it.

Can anyone explain to me what the colors behind the keys mean? They don't seem to match up at all with what colors the keys actually represent in game.

If you have a choice between Wii and Xbox go Xbox if you can, though the Wii version isn't as crippled as previous versions of Rock Band since RB3 is supposed to support exports. I don't have much info on that yet though. The other thing you don't get with the Wii is full access to the RBN store.
Did you end up buying an E-drum kit? I just hate spending a lot of money on fake drums when I would rather invest it in my acoustic kit.
The export process currently isn't working for me. Anyone have issues or found it was buggy?

I think there might be some load on the servers, because I got errors trying to do my RB2 export last night, and again tonight. I entered the code on the back of my manual five or six times before it finally accepted it. I tried both uppercase and lowercase variations (no dashes, although if you try to enter dashes you'll run out of room) and it finally went through in lowercase, so I suspect case doesn't matter.
Man, is there anyway to easily see what DLC you've already bought and is already on your HD? We bought a brand new 20gig to use just for Rock Band, but it's just ridiculous how you can't easily see what you've bought versus what's on your HD. All I see on the DLC list when I go into a Purchased song is the option to Download Again... grrrr...
I just did it on my 360 with no problem at all. Entered the code from the back of my RB2 manual into RB3 and it is downloading the export now. I also downloaded my Gamestop preorder pack and the free Doors pack with no issue.
wow i didn't know the doors pack was free, is that a special promotion or is it just free for everyone?
I've come across my first big bug in the game -- there's a short cutscene that sometimes plays, of your roadies moving gear down a ramp. My PS3 locks up immediately at this point.
The frustrating thing is that even if I just quickplay a song(s), this cutscene sometime shows up.
Lots of people on the RB forums have reported exactly that same issue. I'm sure they will have to put out a patch for that before too long.
I had a feeling something like this could happen. I applaud Harmonix for their ambition and efforts, but there are so many variables in trying to get a new piece of software to work with previous content.
But it is an amazing effort. I think they had trouble making their deadline (heck, the website wasn't even up on the day of release), but the sheer magnitude of what they've done here is tremendous. I played for about two hours last night on xbox and experienced no crashes, although I wasn't using much downloaded content or older tracks, since I was trying out the keyboard. The Pro mode is a huge upgrade, given that they had to program way more than five notes per instrument, and make varying levels of difficulty while still using real instrumentation.
I'll forgive them some bugs - this is a true work of art. I'm sure they'll clean up their mess soon.
Need some help with drums. I purchased the RB3 set with the cymbals and well the suck. One of the cymbals double registers no matter how adjusted. The red pad sometimes doesn't register hits and there is a small lag with the kick pedal. Is the Drum Rocker kit still the best alternative? I just want to be able to enjoy the game without be frustrated by crappy hardware.
