States that aren't run by Republican scum can and should be telling the SCOUTS to go fuck themselves and to MAKE them enforce their usurped far right radicalized activist Court orders.

Especially California for anything. I can't wait for these Republican landlocked States to try and secede and watch from my porch as they try and survive.

This is what I've been saying. Just do a Donald Trump and ignore SCOTUS. Trump would ignore if SCOTUS were a liberal majority. Republican states would ignore SCOTUS if SCOTUS were a liberal majority. SCOTUS is a joke. Not only because of their rulings of late, but because Thomas is corrupt as hell and the other Trump justices all lied to the senate. So it is certainly acceptable to simply ignore SCOTUS rulings as this SCOTUS has no credibility.
And again, Donald Trump destroys every American institution that he touches. He destroyed the republican party, the free election process, the department of Justice, on and on and on. If Trump touched it, it was made into kaka. SCOTUS was no different.
Ignore the orange bastard and everything he has touched thus destroyed.

But...but....the birth is just another opportunity and prevents a second trauma.
But according to Gov. Stitt in Oklahoma, the 10 year old girl better get a fucking job, because we have "free market solutions" to raising a kid, none of that socialist shit.

However, any woman doing so can say she went to see the wonderful attractions of the blue state they were visiting and as it so happened availed themselves of the services provided there, by the way.
You are in a state that allows abortion. You get one. You come home where abortion is illegal. You didn't get an illegal abortion in your state, you got a legal one in another state. I can't see how the courts can prosecute.

Gambling was illegal in CA when I grew up. People went to NV and gambled. They were not arrested for gambling when they returned to CA. Same thing!

If you had to guess in the states that now or will restrict abortion, if keeping Roe were put up for statewide referendum what percentage would vote to keep it?

What percentage of states that now or will restrict abortion will put it to a referendum and would they honour the results?

And you get Noem of SD. “Why aren’t we talking about the rapist?” He’s been caught, who cares about him you twit. But anything to distract away from the whole abortion issue.

Majorities everywhere but maybe the Deep South. Even then I'm not entirely sure since a lot of people wanted to keep the status quo.

A lot of ballot initiatives to ban abortion, especially out west, have gone down in defeat over the years. This is not popular policy.

Wonder how long until she tells us the real issue is mental health.

Technically not wrong if you include the mental health of stanch conservatives who have shunted America down a bad policy road for decades and are now pretending not to know anything about the choices they've made for us as everything keeps turning to shit. They should get help for their severe cases of denial.

But goes back to party over country. Okay fine average republican voter doesn’t want to ban abortions. But can’t be voting for those commie democrats either!!!!

Also important to remember though that if memory serves ballot initiatives to expand Medicaid and eliminate gerrymandering have been thwarted after passage by Republican legislatures so even if they passed it’s far from guaranteed republicans would respect the will of their voters.

Ultimately the question is if the government cannot relatively consistently reflect the will of the people is that government still effective? I'd argue no at this point. Congress is basically incapable of the structural reforms that would fix much of this which are provided to it in the constitution. We simply lack the will to repair what is broken and instead keep watching it get more broken. Eventually it will cease to function at all.

Yes, this is a good point. Republican legislatures often block the will of the voters or circumvent it by passing new law. Since they also usually control the courts in the states where this happens there are no consequences doing so.

The main problem is people’s stance on abortion is squishy. They hate abortion bans but plenty are okay with more restrictive laws than Democrats generally support.

This is why Democrats should be passing law after law that target the most unpopular restrictions (rape, incest, etc.). If republicans block them they look insane. If they don’t, you got rid of some heinous anti-choice laws. After that go to a national right to first trimester abortion. That‘a super popular too! Republicans probably block that one but again that makes them unpopular and if for some reason they don’t you just re-legalized 90% of abortions.

Instead they are trying to re-pass the sort of popular law that already failed. Because they are stupid.

The nationwide breakdown of 30/30/40 (R/D/I) does this still apply to ruby red states? Like is there enough independent voters to swing those states if enough outrage finally gets them to vote out Repugnicans?

Basically any poll that doesn’t break down independents by which party they lean towards is not useful as in many cases ‘leaners’ vote the same way partisans do, they just are less honest about their affiliation.

Most people who call themselves "independents" are actually still partisan. They just don't think of themselves that way.

I think there’s more to it than that.

I was a moderate Republican that shifted to independent and then to Moderate Democrat(Center left Democrat, not center Right Democrat like Manchin and Symena) over the last 18 years as the GOP became nuttier and nuttier. I know a lot of like minded individuals.
