Granted I did interchange the use of words as in my thinking a medical abortion was the same as a medically life threatening abortion. I stated it incorrectly. No lie intended.

So in reality, Texas law does allow abortion for a medical emergency. Unless that article in incorrect.

Edit: I think that Life In Prison for an abortion is way extreme and I do not agree with that at all.

The law allows for abortion in a very small subset of medical emergencies. Of course, with this law, that set will grow much larger than it needs to be as doctors have to allow treatable emergencies to progress to life threatening medical emergencies before intervening with proper treatment. This law is stupidly cruel, which is par for the course for conservative lawmakers.

We can discuss abortion rights or the lack of, we can discuss insurrections, we can discuss the future of republicans and democrats but frankly in the end all discussion will hinge on November. We will see if voters really care about abortion or about insurrections or about the future of Trump or if voters really care about those who break the law. We will see if any of this is important to voters, well.... important enough to make a difference at the polls.
It is highly reasonable to assume that none of the aforementioned will have any impact on what voters do on election night. It could come down to simple realities such as money, prices, gas, and disposable income.

Just to make it clear, the investigation is because the dr has yet to file a criminal report of the rape as reason to perform the abortion. They aren’t going after her just because she performed the abortion.

Pretty sure the AG is peeved that she discussed this case at all publicly—it would be much more convenient for GOP lawmakers to say cases like these don’t exist or are too rare and sweep them under the rug. Banning high capacity magazines.
Banning Ghost Guns.
Banning certain types of weapons.
Meaningful detailed background checks and waiting periods.
Age limits for purchasing, 21 years minimum for any gun.
Red Flag laws that are actually used and enforced.

Just for starters.


I am sure that the foster care system could use improvement, however I am not familiar enough to comment on this specific issue.

It shows the AG of Indiana cares more about a piece of paper than protecting a 10 year-old rape victim. Hopefully if he is ever raped, he is denied any emergency care.

Adolescence is while you are going through puberty, as this girl is. She would've started puberty at least a year ago to have become pregnant (on average), which is early but not crazy early.
