It seems like pretty much anyone who votes for the Republicans likes and supports whatever war the US is involved in. For that reason alone, Ron Paul should have run either as an independant or as a Democrat. I'm pretty sure all of the wars the US has been involved in have been spearheaded by a Republican president over the past 30 years or so (Vietnam plus Iraq x 2, perhaps others).

I cannot think of a better candidate

All the others are just diarrhea or vomit from ingestion of all those before them

The Vietnam War as we know it can be blamed on Johnson.

edit: by "as we know it" I mean it ended up being a full scale military operation because of Johnson

Ron Paul was a doctor for 30 years. I'm pretty sure he was already a millionaire. His candidacy and this book are all about spreading the message of liberty and informing a very ill-informed public.

Yep; the ultimate get rich scheme. His kids, and grandkids, and their kids will all live happily ever.

or it could be a man's attempt at trying to get people like you to wake up

Ron Paul pushed nothing. He didn't go looking for support. His support went looking for him.

I challenge anyone to find a Congressman as honest, with as much integrity, and as much respect for the the Constitution, the rule of law, and American freedoms and liberties.

The children in here don't even care what he has to say... they are too busy waiting for Rush or the RNC talking points to tell them what to think ...

Even a somewhat partisan democrat, I do not buy this crap that all US wars are just always the fault of republicans. Nor do I see Ron Paul as some sort of villain or hero who must be demonized or worshiped. Or that over simplistic crass motivations have to be assigned to everyone of his actions.

Personally, I do not think the ideas Ron Paul pushed are anything new in American politics, nor are those ideas dead because Ron Paul lost in 08. I think Ron Paul added value to the debates of 08, his supporters have nothing to be ashamed of for pushing his candidacy because its all part of the American political process grass roots, and I for one will throw cold water on anyone who takes joy in kicking a dead horse. That dead horse will not win in 08, but the ideas will live on and find new voices. My current worries now center on the fact all the living horses are looking rather sickly and
have their own varieties of stinking thinking.

Maybe in a better world we could take some ideas from one horse and add it to another while removing some bad ideas
and build that perfect candidate.

The people want change. Ask Senator Obama. Unfortunately for Ron Paul the change we want wasn?t to move closer to our constitution.

Not so much unfortunate for Ron Paul, but more so, unfortunate for Americans. We are getting closer and closer to becoming a people who think the Constitution is behind the times, something that failed. But a minority of people will know the truth, the truth that it was the lack of respect for the Constitution that has led us to failure.

Ah, but the Americans voting themselves the largess of the public treasury will benefit greatly in the short term. In a society taught and trained to head towards instant satisfaction and self gratification this is the only natural choice. The long term folly escapes their simple minds, whereas instinct to nurse off the hand that feeds them is more powerful than ever.

Isn?t it nature?s cruel little irony that it?s because of society that we throw ourselves to the dependence of others and become so lazy, fat, happy that we allow that society to implode upon itself? That which had sustained us last century will give great pain and suffering to the current century.

As opposed to the Paulbots that wait on pins & needles for His every mere utterance. You guys have nothing to talk about when it comes to spreading talking points while blindly following the Word of His Looniness, the Chief Keeper of the TinFoil Chapeau, Ron {sigh} Paul.

...Proving you know nothing about Paul's supporters. It has nothing to do with Paul himself, it just so happens that he's the only Republican who actually believes in following the Constitution. The rest of you are just posers who scream throw around words like "capitalism", "socialism", and "freedom" without knowing what the hell they mean.

Keep talking though, dipshits like you and JediYoda are amusing. It'll be funny to watch you piss and moan when the Democrats recapture the White House (assuming they're not stupid enough to nominate Hillary) and continue to take congressional spots from the Republicans as well. I will delight in your tears, little man.

I hate how Libertarians think they've stumbled upon some secret we're all too dumb to understand, how they're revolutionaries, and how they hold the only legitimate point of view.

That about sums it up... nothing like a false sense of intellectual superiority to help sell Libertopia.

Pff please you nuts were the ones to spam every corner of the inter webs with rhetoric.

"I'll vote for Ron Paul, because I support freedom"
"Vote Ron Paul, save the constitution"
"some random bs with the words liberty, save, constitution randomly sprinkled in"

It got to the point that there was no political discourse, only a bunch of morons with cut&paste talking points and links to youtube videos.

"Failed"? No. Just that it needs to evolve, with the rest of society.

(PS income tax is in the constiution TWICE, including a specific amendment. Eat that, Paulbots!)

(PPS I know you guys are under some moronic notion that that amendment never really passed. hilarious.)

edit: don't post when you aren't paying attention. the above made little sense until the edit.

Practical? You mean like invading Iraq? Or how about borrowing $3 billion a day from foreign countries? SS and Medicare entitlements that will be paid for by our great-great grandchildren?
