My production will likely drop dramatically for the next little while. Users at the office where most of my computers are located have been complaining of slow response on their computers lately. The problem appears to be that many of the computers only have 256MB of RAM and Rosetta is taking 80+MB of RAM at all times so there just isn't enough memory space left over to run their office apps. I have set the preferences for these computers to only run when the computer is not in use to see if it makes a difference. I have a bunch of new RAM on order that will likely fix the problem permanently, but in the meantime my daily points will probably be about half (or less) of what they are now until I'm able to get the new memory installed...

Not surprized, that's why I'm ordering all the new systems with 1GB ram, lol. The only machines I'm running Rosetta on have more than enough ram left for the users.

I started crunching rosetta a few days ago, but forgot to actually join the team until today . Dont' have it crunching too much (I'm sharing resources with seti on my lone computer), but is it right to only get about 35 points per wu? Doesn't seem like very much.

I'll vote in favor of that!

The interesting thing is that Rosetta has been running on most of these computers for several weeks and it only just started causing problems. It makes me think that there's something else going on, but the problems went away as soon as I set the client to only run when the computer is not in use...
