Rosewill can be a hit or miss brand. Some of there newer models have gotten better but its still hit or miss. You either get a unit that won't last very long or you get a good one that will run fine.

I wouldn't go with Rosewill or Thermaltake, but that is me. I've read quite a bit about Rosewill in the past and don't like what I read. Their current PSU's seem to be getting better, but like the previous posts, it's hit or miss. What are you trying to power up?

You need to narrow your scope a little more than just throwing a couple brand names out there.

Virtually EVERY PSU company has a full breath of product, not just for different levels of users, but for different price points.

Thermaltake has good units... and bad unit. Rosewill has good units... and bad units. Ultra has good units.... and bad units.

You can't really judge ONE PRODUCT by the brand alone.

well when you find some that interest you, then post the models, as Jonny said, we can't judge from brand name alone....unless it is a Logisys or Powmax or their ilk....they all suck period

The problem is that very few online sites list UL and none tell you what the internals are... so usually brand and in cases of more popular brands family are the only clues you've got.

For instance. I know antec Basiq's are made by fortron. That tells me they're rated @ peak which is 50watts above sustained, but are solid and exceptionally heavy PSU's. Internals aren't the best in the world but they aren't the cheapest. I know antec Earthwatts are made by Seasonic. That tells me the internals are quite good, but the unit will weigh less than Im used to. Rosewill's Psu's are made by ???. Their internals are ??? and their quality is ???. Now if you reviewed every single PSU available and got sent a new test model every time a manufacturer changed a part out, we'd be able to show no brand loyalty. But since Newegg has several hundred PSU's right now, it's safest to do so.

Right... but nobody's telling the OP to go pull up the UL and check for himself. He's using Anandtech as a tool now and should later. Probably half of the people here can tell him the OEM of a particular PSU without having to look it up just based on experience or from what they've seen on a review... which is the kind of investigation one SHOULD do before buying something.

If and when he figures out which PSU he's most likely interested in and what he's going to power with it, we can help him. Right now, he's just asking if "Rosewill" is good "in general" (I suppose) and we don't even know what the application is.

That's too bad as Newegg is offering great package deals on the Rosewill PSU and Phenom CPU.

It's "too bad" that nobody is willing to state WHAT Rosewill PSU we're talking about so we can give an educated opinion on the unit.

Until someone does that, I'm not going to say it's a good or bad deal.
