RPM of ZALMAN CNPS7000A-ALCU

OK - First off this is a great HSF combo. Pentium 2.8C and it is running at 31C at idle and the RPms are about 1400 and it is whisper silent. If I was going to overclock a little. Is it possible to variably control the speed of the fan??

I have the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu. Which just like your model comes with Fan Mate the small speed regulator which I never bothered hooking up. I have mine hooked up to an A7N8X with Q-Fan (Asus variable speed control) which is also disabled. It runs at a constant 2600 RPM keeping my Barton 2500(OCed to 3200specs) at a reasonably quiet/cool 35C with very low speed(noise) case fans. I just thought I'd share that with you.

Yes, as slackosaurus said it comes with a Fan Mate speed controller. There's a little dial on it that you turn to adjust speed.

You could also just not use the Fan Mate, and use Speedfan to control the RPM so don't have to pop the side off the case.

I use SpeedFan auto variable min 10% and max 100% with desired temp a few degrees above idle so it is quiet until high CPU usage.
