RTCW: Enemy Territory

I used to play this a lot. Great team multiplayer.

It's been a while. The sequel, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars killed it, I think. Does anyone still play?

Haven't played it for years, but it was immense stuff.

I wasn't overly keen on the Quake sequel thing.

RTCW (the original) is my favorite multiplayer of all time. ET:QW was decent, but there honestly hasn't been a worthy successor in the last 10+ years. I really wish that style would come back.

I've always loved that team objective based gameplay. When it takes you half the match to finally blow that first objective... more rewarding than thousands of hours of the team deathmatch style most game devolve into.

Played until ~2009. It's the game that really taught me how to play FPS's. A perfect combination of an amazing engine (id Tech 3) and awesome game design.

ET was so easy to map for also, and such a good game that a large majority of user maps were fun, even if you were playing on a gigantic pool table with 10 foot balls rolling around.

I know this sounds quirky I never could get into Quake Wars because movement felt like skating, I found watching people run around and myself run was irritating.

I liked both. But loved ETQW. I agree with scooterlibby, this series needs to make a comeback and COD/BF needs to die, along with ARMA and all those IMHO, crappy games.

Oh, and I think the master server was shutdown for ETQW. You have to do some extra work to play it still. Shame.
