Question RTX 4090 and the Seasonic 12VHPWR 16-Pin 600W Cable

I have an RTX 4090 Founder's Edition and I'm considering replacing the 4 8-pin connector adapter that came with my 4090 with the Seasonic 12VHPWR 16-Pin 600W cable so I have a more direct connection to the power supply and less clutter inside my PC. I'm currently using 3 PCI-E 8-pin power cables connect to the adapter my 4090 came and that means my power supply is providing up to 450W to the 4090. I'm don't have a 4th PCI-E 8-pin connector on my power supply, so I couldn't used a 4th PCI-E 8-pin cable even if I wanted to with my current power supply, but only 3 8-pin PCI-E cables or a single 450W 5th GEN PCI-E power cable are required for this card according to what's listed on the box. Buying this cable would be much cheaper than buying a 1000W Gen 5 power supply that includes a 12VHPWR 16-pin 600W cable. If I do get this 600W 12VHPWR cable will my 4090 consume more power than it is now and my 850W then might not be enough? I have the Seasonic GX Focus 850W power supply which is compatible with this cable.

NGL I'm having a hard time understanding what your situation and question are. .

You don't have a 4th PCI-e cable and if you use a different 12vHpwr cable will your card use more power?

If you're currently correctly supplying the card with power using an adaptor, moving over to a cable without the adaptor is not going to cause the card to consume more power.

If you're under supplying the card now by not plugging some cables into it's adaptor, then you plug the appropriate cable in then yes it will draw more power in that circumstance.

The Founder's Edition is a ~450W card. That's the power it will draw at stock even with a 600W 12HPWR cable. Also, the recommended PSU wattage for the 4090 FE is 850W according to Nvidia themselves. Changing the cable does not alter the PSU recommendation.

Your 4090 was supplied with a 4x adapter because some people overclock their cards, not because the card is designed to draw much more than 450W.

About 2 months ago I bought the Seasonic 12VHPWR 600W cable instead of using the adapter that came with my 4090 and so far no issues.
