Rule question

The race rules say something about what happens when you join and the wu's you bring.
I understood the rules to say that units completed prior to joining won't count, certainly at least those completed prior to the contest's start.

So, does a work unit completed today, during the contest, by a non-member count toward the TA total if the member joins tomorrow?

I ask because several machines are doing units, and a few are done, but I have no password.

No, your WUs won't count until after you have joined the TeAm.

I started doing seti and requested a password yesterday. As I recall, it thanked me and said the password would be mailed in a few minutes.

I hate to seem impatient, but I am just wondering if anyone remembers how long it took to get their password?

Check your junk / deleted folders - hotmail routes seti email there. You might have to request again and watch your hotmail closely depending on how long it takes them to get rid of the message without the courtesy of even telling you so.

BTW I believe you can hold your units for up to a week and then dump them, as long as you are a member first.

Also if you are using hotmail, check the junk mail deletion option and be sure it is set to delayed. If not the message will be deleted before you have the chance to see it.

Uh...with the way this race is going? 50/50.

If they do beat us by one, there's going to be a lot of pissed of people thinking - "Man! If I only wouldn't have restarted my computer that ONE TIME we would've won!"

It would appear that perhaps some have not been paying too close attention to the addition of new members. Any new member arriving with 4 or less units is not having them removed, specifically because of the one day delay. It is assumed that they had not crunched before and the WUs have been allowed.
