So I bought 1 GB of OCZ Value Series DDR2-PC5300 for my laptop. I failed to realize when ordering that the system I have takes CAS4, and this was CAS5. It's rated at 5-5-5-15, and my system runs it at 4-4-4-12.
I ran it anyways just to check, and ran Memtest86+ for two full test cycles with no errors.
I figure OCZ just rates everything new at 5-5-5-15 just because they relaxed their quality control standards to raise their yield. Is that true? Am I safe?
